Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I say keep the leftists occupied with squashing piss ants so they don't notice we're systematically demolishing their beloved liberal plantation.
I certainly do agree with that article. I can take Trump's mouth that shocks the tender minded leftists, yes all the ones calling me a hater and deplorable. Go president Trump, keep telling it like it is!
Truth is nice, but does not have to be insulting and rude. Plenty of people tell the truth without it being insulting and rude. The idea that this is the only way the point can be gotten across is simply untrue.
I am increasingly convinced that there is a portion of Trump support - I don't know how large - who are not merely putting up with the insultingness or are neutral to it, but actively like it. They would like the insults even if Trump weren't accomplishing anything. They don't care about results, they just like fights. I am hoping this percentage is small and simply noisy. Nobody is perfect!
Trump is a very stable genius a-hole! Do not look for perfection in politicians. Just look for results. I dunno! Something said in private that is neither wrong or out of line in private. I'm just not sure Trump did anything wrong here and he certainly didn't do it to appeal to his base because he didn't expect Durbin to help him prop up his base.
But just for the record can you link me to your criticism of Hillary when she insulted half the voters calling us names and being insulting on national TV? "The idea that this is the only way the point can be gotten across is simply untrue. "
Well, it's a good thing nobody's saying that's the only way to get a point across then, isn't it? The point was not to get a point across, it was to preempt the BS he knew would be coming out of that meeting via Durbin and his ilk.
Congratulations! You are now promoted to Head Village Idiot!
The only way to keep the left's useful idiots off balance is to make fun of them, insult them, and then move on to the next faux outrage. They do not understand why they are not liked or listened to. Treat them like sh*t and they will act like it. And, as far as I know, there is no real evidence Trump said that. Other than the Fake News Purveyors. Sort of like Russian collusion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=51&v=0uiuSW1NzZw
Nations and the people living there are inseparable. If a nation is undesirable place to live then it's because of the people living there have made it so. If the people have not the capacity to form a modern state found in the wealthy part of the world then it's the fault of inadequacy of the people. No getting around that basic logic.
I disagree. When I visited Ireland in 1977, I found the Irish to be mostly cool and not very friendly. I later mentioned this to a friend who had grown up on Cork before emigrating to the US. He laughed and said, "They are not friendly because Americans looking for their "roots" are just reminding them that the cream left." His point was that the emigrants were those with the energy and initiative to leave and make a new life. Those that remained, and produced the present generation, were lacking the initiative and willing to accept with the poor quality of life rather than take a chance.
The Cuban middle class left when Castro took over. What is left are those unable to make in a modern society. I meet young African immigrants and they would be fine with a merit based immigration system. The New York financial industry has lots of Ibo tribe members from Nigeria working as "quants." Andy Texan: If the people have not the capacity to form a modern state found in the wealthy part of the world then it's the fault of inadequacy of the people.
That ignores history. Ireland has been among Europe's poorest countries for centuries, but from the 1970s to the 2000s, by developing a knowledge-based economy, became one of the richest countries in Europe with a per capita GDP (PPP) of $66k — higher than the U.S. China was once the economic powerhouse of the world, but was then dwarfed by the industrial powers in the West, while today China is rapidly industrializing, rivaling the West in turn. Or you could look at Germany or Korea. Basically the same peoples, divided by differing economic and governmental systems. Ah yes, Ireland. It was a little more than developing a knowledge-based community.
Corporate tax rates have been one of the principal elements of the favourable enterprise environment in Ireland for more than three decades. Keep fudging with the facts there, kiddiez. Zzzzz: Trump clearly meets the definition of a bully, ...
Punching back harder is not bullying. Try again, kiddiez. Courtesy of Instapundit:
https://www.lifezette.com/polizette/a-brief-history-of-potty-mouth-presidents/ QUOTE: Andrew Klavan: No person of importance on the right seeks to silence anyone on the left. That is not the case. For instance, prominent right wing media will repeatedly vilify someone, and the target will then be subjected to threats of violence. QUOTE: Andrew Klavan: This is simply a form of bullying. Trump clearly meets the definition of a bully, someone who uses their power to strike down, something he has done his entire life. QUOTE: Andrew Klavan: Unnamed sources say that he referred to some African countries and Haiti as “shitholes.” Well, it turns out that a billion people live in those places, people who love their countries despite the problems they face, people who are working to improve their homelands. The U.S. wants to do business with Africans and their descendants. Racist insults are counterproductive, to say the least. Meanwhile, Norwegians respond to Trump's offer. Zzzzz: For instance, prominent right wing media will repeatedly vilify someone, and the target will then be subjected to threats of violence.
This is... CNN Hypocritical much there, kiddiez? Zzzzz: Trump clearly meets the definition of a bully, ...
Punching back harder is not bullying. Try again, kiddiez. Zachriel sputtered:
"That is not the case. For instance, prominent right wing media will repeatedly vilify someone, and the target will then be subjected to threats of violence." How about some examples? You realize that vilifying is not equivalent to trying to silence, don't you? Probably not. And telling someone on the internet you will kick their ass is not really a threat of violence, is it? Unlike those on the left that actually carry out violence. Zachriel sputters: "Trump clearly meets the definition of a bully, someone who uses their power to strike down, something he has done his entire life." Again, how about some specific examples? Real examples, not CNN examples. Zachriel passes gas: "Well, it turns out that a billion people live in those places, people who love their countries despite the problems they face, people who are working to improve their homelands." I could ask for examples again, but I know you won't have any. Zachriel swoons: "The U.S. wants to do business with Africans and their descendants. Racist insults are counterproductive, to say the least." Believe me, no one WANTS to do business with Africans. They just want access to their natural resources. Natural resources that will remain in the ground if up to Africans. Anonymous White Male: How about some examples?
A prominent example is O'Reilly repeatedly calling Dr. George Tiller "Tiller the baby-killer". Anonymous White Male: And telling someone on the internet you will kick their ass is not really a threat of violence, is it? Uh, yeah, it is. Especially when you dox and threaten their families. Fear is the weapon. Anonymous White Male: Again, how about some specific examples? Trump's entire career is characterized by punching down, such as threatening to take to court his own contractors unless they take less than the contracted amount. As President he has threatened to undermine licensing of major broadcasters for news he considers "fake". He has attacked individuals, such as calling for the firing of Colin Kaepernick. The list is extensive. Anonymous White Male: I could ask for examples again, but I know you won't have any. Seriously, you're saying there is no one in Africa trying to better their country? Anonymous White Male: Believe me, no one WANTS to do business with Africans. They just want access to their natural resources. If you don't want to do business with Africans for access to their natural resources, presumably you want to steal them for the benefit of your fellow "Anonymous White Males". Again a lousy retort from the kiddiez.
Bill O'Reilly? Seriously? Maybe the doxxing award should go to Spike Lee or did you forget about that? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spike-lee-retweets-incorrect-address-of-george-zimmerman-violates-twitter-rules/ Keep setting them up kiddiez and we'll keep knocking them down. It's easy because y'all are intellectually dishonest. Now that evidence has come to light that indeed Trump DID NOT say what Durbin claimed he said. Why that makes Durbin a liar AND a racist. Whoop whoop! Trump is right again.
