President Trump has jumpstarted an important and rancorous debate about immigration that is likely to drag on for several years. Democrats are vitally important participants in that debate. But they will be more likely to shape its outcome if they make their case on the merits instead of denying the legitimacy of having the debate in the first place.

I'm not going to argue the morality of taping a concert for free and selling at a profit. Obviously the performers lose control of the creative process and are not paid royalties. But with the average bootleg run back in the 70s about 1000 pieces and selling for $5 a piece, I don't think they dented anyone's income or ability to buy a Lear Jet. Your average Joe wasn't going to buy a bootleg, they were going to fanatics who probably had all of the official releases anyways.

My purpose here is to review my collection, and cull the gems from the crud, and hopefully save you from making a B.I. (Bad Investment). I certainly have some bootlegs that aren't worth the wax they're pressed on. The history of Bootlegs was documented by Clinton Heylin in 1994 in Bootleg: The Secret History Of The Other Recording Industry. Equally interesting are the Hot Wacks Guides which provided basic information on each LP as well as a rating on the sound quality. I would search out Book XV, as it is the most complete. For Beatles' fans there's an extensive reference book called You Can't Do That : Beatles Bootlegs and Novelty Records By Charles Reinhart. All of these books are available used on Amazon or eBay.

where's the Black Album? (not the ethan hawke collection of Beatles and post-Beatles songs, this was a bootleg vinyl I remember buying in '79).

we used to buy everything from studio outtakes, alternate versions, imports, rehearsals, tapes from guys holding up recorders at concerts... all at the monthly Capitol Records parking lot swap meet in Hollywood.

Until this country acknowledges that transgenderism / gender dyspohoria is a serious mental illness, not a privileged status, we will have problems. Why a psychological delusion where you cannot understand gender reality gives you special rights to hiring, bathroom usage, etc. is beyond me. However, it looks like the American people are coming to their senses and will shut this nonsense down.

Total BS, there is no scientific evidence for that. I'm not denying their existence, I am saying the science says they have a serious mental illness similar to schizophrenia or serious bipolar where they cannot discern truth from delusion, in this case about their own gender.

In the 1800s, there was a crazy guy in San Francisco who believed he was emperor of the United States--Emperor Norton. The city residents tolerated and even played along with his harmless delusion. But no one believed it was true or paid attention to any of Emperor Norton's commands.

Here, the crazy thing is the leftists and their politicians enable the delusion by saying it is true and that it deserves special elevated social, political and legal status.

That is incorrect. It's a situation that occurs in roughly 0.1% of all human births. See Blackless et al., How sexually dimorphic are we? Review and synthesis. American Journal of Human Biology, 2000.

For instance, someone may be born with XY chromosomes, making them genetically female, but are insensitive process androgens, so don't develop male characteristics. There are also many different physical manifestations of male and female organs. Keep in mind that male and female sex organs develop from the same embryonic cells. Rather than a simple binary that is common for most people, for some there is a scale of sexual differentiation. And that's just the sex organism. Behavioral characteristics can very even more.

That is called an aberration. It is NOT normal. Just like a calf born with extra legs, or a frog with two heads.

People who are born as 'intersex' are born with a genetic defect that we correct as human beings (either with surgery, drugs, or both...sometimes it is left alone for whatever reason) because we are a binary species. In the wild, animals with the same defect tend to not live out a normal life of others in their species.

Add that to all the other variations in human sexual and gender identity, and you have a significant population of people who are LGBT+.

You miss the point. They are more than welcome to be different. I don't care, I don't want to be involved in it. Be as different as you like but do it in private. The rest of us are human beings too. If this is what politicians want to run on, i.e. men showering/peeing with girls, than lets see who gets elected.

Poor analogy.

First, it's not just about bathrooms, it's about locker rooms, battered women's shelters, women's sports, government and private benefits like SBA loans and scholarships, women's schools (interesting that there are still women's schools but I don't think there are any men's schools any more), and probably a lot more than that.

Second, blacks were black. Transgenders think they are a different gender than than are - either because they honestly think that or because they are trying to game the system for their perceived benefit.

Third, blacks were always (and still are) blacks. With the exception of very light skinned blacks, they couldn't decide they were blacks one day and white or oriental another.

All this transgender business is lunacy. "Real" ones perceived themselves to be a different gender than they really are. Some want to support their delusion. Should we also support the delusion of people, for example, who are anorexic (who perceive they are fatter than they really are)? How about people who perceive themselves to be younger (or older) than they really are?

Putting Lady Gaga's scientific treatise on whatever it was on aside, being "born that way" (believing they have the wrong gender) means nothing. People are born with all sorts of physical and mental abnormalities. Why couldn't gender dysphoria be one of them?

No matter how much a female wants to be a male, she will always have two X chromosomes and no matter how much a male wants to be a female, he will always have an X and a Y chromosome.

Interesting example. Some people are born with XY chromosomes, but are androgen insensitive. This may result in the person lacking secondary male characteristics, or it may even affect the embryo, leading to undermasculinized genitalia.

Changing one's gender is usually a fairly complicated process. It varies by state. For instance, in California, changing your birth certificate requires a physician attesting that the person has "undergone clinically appropriate treatment for the purpose of gender transition". Some states do not allow birth certificates or other official documents to be updated.

And how did Obama travel to Pakistan with an American passport when that would have been impossible? And why did Obama declare he was a foreigner on his college application? We can't do much about the big joke except to try to root out the subversive elements the Joker left behind. Obama left a lot of mine fields; Obamacare is a good example of this. It's blowing up right on cue. You will notice the puppet masters wisely made it take full effect after Obama left office. Part of me thinks we shouldn't fix it or touch it and simply let it do it's destruction and every time the MSM brings it up show them that picture of Obama flipping off America. The zip codes for Hawaii and Connecticut are off by one digit - zero for CN is the initial digit and nine is the first digit for HI.

The simplest explanation is that an employee at the SSA misread the handwriting on Obama's SSN application and issued him a Connecticut number instead of a Hawaiian one.

The transgender bathroom issue makes no sense. How many transgender people are there and how many of them are having bathroom confusion? Seriously if you are dressed like a man and look more or less like a man no one is going to question you going into a man's restroom. If you have to sit down to pee than go into the stall and do it. Who would know the difference? The issue for the women's bathroom is really the same. So where is the problem? This seems to be a manufactured problem and not a real one. Why do we have to harm and remove protections from 99.99% of Americans to make .01% feel better about their decision? Can anyone really give a legitimate and logical argument for openly allowing men who look like men and dress like men to enter and use the women's bathrooms???
