Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

How would a leftist Milo get treated? Harvey Milk had a 16 year-old live-in boyfriend. Just sayin'.
Why can't a woman be more like a trans? Because the trans want to be special, and different.

The GOP doesn't hold the White Working Class, Trump does. The GOP will lose these voters just as they did after Reagan is they abandon the middle ground. "Scientists Say They’ve Discovered a Hidden Continent Under New Zealand"
That continent wasn't hidden. It just didn't stick out like the other continents do. And THAT's due to Global Warming Sea Level Rises!!!11111!!!!
There is a reason they can see Trump as the new Hitler" even in the face of his close ties to Jewish people. They are highly edumedicated. It is not new or unusual. Remember the Aryan ideal then consider Hitler, Goering, and other Nazi officials.
QUOTE: The fading of the critical sense is a serious menace to the preservation of our civilization. It makes it easy for quacks to fool the people. It is remarkable that the educated strata are more gullible than the less educated. The most enthusiastic supporters of Marxism, Nazism, and Fascism were the intellectuals, not the boors. The intellectuals were never keen enough to see the manifest contradictions of their creeds. It did not in the least impair the popularity of Fascism that Mussolini in the same speech praised the Italians as the representatives of the oldest Western civilization and as the youngest among the civilized nations. No German nationalist minded it when dark-haired Hitler, corpulent Goering, and lame Goebbels were praised as the shining representatives of the tall, slim, fair-haired, heroic Aryan master race. Is it not amazing that many millions of non-Russians are firmly convinced that the Soviet regime is democratic, even more democratic than America? von Mises, Ludwig (1945). Bureaucracy If the educated are more gullible, could it be because they replace good common sense with flowery sophistries?
Somethings I've been reading lately, along with some posts by a Assistant Village Idiot at his own blog, make me think this is substantially the case. Intellecualizing a problem works so well in many instances that those with superior intelligence deploy it in situations where it does not work well, and intellectuals are better at rationalizing away the differences between reality and their misconceptions.
How would a leftist Milo be treated?
He would be treated as the voice of the left. He is a homosexual who says controversial things, he prefers black men and he can claim to have been a childhood victim of a Catholic priest. He would soon get a boatload of Soros money to run for a House or Senate seat and have a talkshow on HBO until then. But since he has said things that break with the liberal orthodoxy, he must be silenced by Nazi mobs from the left. Hypocrisy much, lefties? QUOTE: The Dark State of Political Correctness - Dealing with the canard that President Trump is an anti-Semite. QUOTE: I don’t know what the alt-right is, or anyone in it. The term 'alt-right' was coined by Robert Spencer to refer to his white nationalist movement. Steve Bannon, former editor of Breitbart, called Breitbart the platform for the alt-right. QUOTE: I’ve never liked the term “right”; it reinforces the mythology that conservatism is even remotely aligned with fascism and Nazism. Only if you make a false generalization, that is, apply characteristics of the most extreme members of a class to every member of the class. Though Nazism is usually placed on the political right, they were hardly conservative. QUOTE: reports prompted Mr. Turx (pen name) to ask President Donald Trump what Turx thought was a friendly softball question about the president addressing anti-Semitism... In response, it would have been both desirable and appropriate, and expedient, for President Trump to condemn anti-Semitism and racial and religious hatred. He should have done so, then. Instead President Trump called the question “repulsive” and “insulting” So Trump demands an Orthodox Jewish reporter sit down before he even finishes his anodyne question, then calls him a liar for having the temerity to ask about antisemitism. Perhaps Trump is not antisemitic, but he is certainly insensitive to serious questions concerning antisemitism. QUOTE: “But some Jews supported Hitler.” There seems the inevitable comparison of Trump to Hitler ... No. It's a valid counterexample to the claim that someone who likes individuals Jews can't be antisemitic. Did Scarlett O'Hara like Mammy? QUOTE: encouraged by CNN, which keeps replaying that neo-Nazi creep, who has almost no following, chanting “Heil Trump.” Steve Bannon is a senior adviser to President Trump. Steve Bannon edited Breitbart, calling it the platform for the alt-right, which claimed that Richard Spencer was the intellectual center of the alt-right movement. QUOTE: when the White House issued President Trump’s statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The statement inexplicably and inexcusably failed to mention the Jewish victims; it was worse than insensitive. That's right. "It was worse than insensitive." Why would they use language typical of Holocaust minimizers? QUOTE: It sounded like Barack Obama It doesn't sound anything like Barack Obama. Here is Obama's statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day: "Erev Tov. The Talmud teaches that if a person destroys one life, it is as if they’ve destroyed an entire world, and if a person saves one life, it is as if they’ve saved an entire world." QUOTE: “I apologize. I hope you don’t think I’m Islamophobic!” Muslim Fundraiser to Repair Jewish Cemetery Raises $100k so the islams sacrificed a few dozen bomb vests for PR's sake.
Do you really think Steve Bannon is aligned with Richard Spencer? Do you really think Steve Bannon is a neo-Nazi? I doubt it unless you are a lot more stupid than I give you credit for. But it makes great propaganda doesn't it. After all the Saul Alinsky formula is to destroy the opposition with lies and noise. That's why you post here soo much. You are the lies and noise of the left here on MF.
Do you really think that most/many people connected the "alt-right" with Richard Spencer??? Did he utter the phrase one? Perhaps and that is enough for the political assassins of the left isn't it. Saul would be sooo proud of you. Somewhere down below he is looking up at you and is soooo proud. Steve Bannon is the next target of the left. Oh, I have no doubt they will get him. Perhaps they will bring out Anita Hill to claim he talked dirty once. Maybe they will photoshop a picture of him in the wrong place and time. Maybe McCain will even help them lynch this good man. They will get him just like they got Flynn. Then someone else will have the target on their back. This is what the left does. "We're the platform for the alt-right." — Steve Bannon, as editor of Breitbart Magazine
An Establishment Conservative's Guide to the Alt-Right: "The alt-right’s intellectuals would also argue that culture is inseparable from race. The alt-right believe that some degree of separation between peoples is necessary for a culture to be preserved." — Breitbart Magazine An Establishment Conservative's Guide to the Alt-Right: "The media empire of the modern-day alternative right coalesced around Richard Spencer during his editorship of Taki’s Magazine." — Breitbart Magazine
And someone could cite Maggies Farm and quote something that you wrote right here. Would that mean that Bird Dog believed what you wrote?
You are simply using a cheap trick to claim that Bannon is a closet racist. We all get it. Bannon is the target de jour. We will watch over the next days to weeks as the alt-left targets Bannon and brings him down. After all the alt-left is all about the politics of personal destruction. OneGuy,

And when he said that what, exactly, did he think "alt-right" meant. I originally believed it meant alt; as different from the rinos, i.e. McCain and Jeb, etc. It was NOT defined by Webster and the left tried their best to stain it because that's what the left does. The left is essentially a conglomeration of rentseekers and hate groups who try to leech off the system with a series of race baiting and lying.
Knowing what I do about Steve Bannon He most certainly did not embrace the Alt-right definition that you and your scumbag friends on the left have created. But as I said, this is what the left does.

You should try to read more carefully. As already noted above: An Establishment Conservative's Guide to the Alt-Right: "The alt-right’s intellectuals would also argue that culture is inseparable from race. The alt-right believe that some degree of separation between peoples is necessary for a culture to be preserved." — Breitbart Magazine

RE Why Judge Gorsuch is a regulatory skeptic
the future USSC justice might not have to worry so much. H.R.5 - Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017. section 202 of this law (which has passed the House) guts Chevron USA v. Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc.. very cool, a total bitchslap to the the libtard regulators. QUOTE: If the reviewing court determines that a statutory or regulatory provision relevant to its decision contains a gap or ambiguity, the court shall not interpret that gap or ambiguity as an implicit delegation to the agency of legislative rule making authority and shall not rely on such gap or ambiguity as a justification either for interpreting agency authority expansively or for deferring to the agency’s interpretation on the question of law. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, this subsection shall apply in any action for judicial review of agency action authorized under any provision of law. No law may exempt any such civil action from the application of this section except by specific reference to this section” Z: No. It's a valid counterexample to the claim that someone who likes individuals Jews can't be antisemitic. Did Scarlett O'Hara like Mammy?
Did Scarlett adopt Mammy or marry into Mammy's family. A tortured analogy to be sure but Trump's daughter, Ivanka did convert to orthodox Judaism which means some of his grandkids are orthodox Jews. Not exactly what an antisemite would gladly allow. mudbug: Did Scarlett adopt Mammy
Now that's funny. Mammy was considered part of the family, like an old chiffonier. The point remains that someone can like someone and still be prejudiced against their ethnicity or religion. I agree that Mammy was in many ways a family member, but I'm sure that Scarlet would have said that Mammy had "her place" and needed to stay there. On the other hand, Southern children who hadn't been inculcated with racism often grew to genuinely love there maids and nannies - my wife being one - and who could not fathom what people were talking about when they spoke of a black person's "place."
Of course it's true that you can like some Jews and still be an antisemite - e.g. Keith Ellison - but that's not the situation with Trump. You do know that the movie and the book were simply fiction, right? Just as Roots was fiction and is full of racism and errors.
OneGuy: You do know that the movie and the book were simply fiction, right?
