We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Funny we don't hear much from Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, or Oliver Stone about "Chavez’s vision of a participatory democracy, one involving all citizens" now.

After continued failure of socialist "experiments," and no successes, it's amazed me that there is any support for it socialism at all, but it's alive and well on college campuses - no truer indictment of the education system.

Why? A dreamer is by definition a citizen of another country who came here illegally and has a home. Send them home. It is the right thing to do for us and for them. If my children got stranded in some other country the best thing they could do is send them home.

As for the parents of anchor babies we need a good case to bring before a good Supreme Court. The constitution does not authorize anchor babies. They too are by law citizens of their parents country. End the anchor baby scam. In fact I would go one step further and charge back the cost of the babies delivery in our hospitals to the mother country of the child. I am all for family reunification but my solution is go back home to where your family is.

United States v. Wong Kim Ark says otherwise and while I'm inclined to think there's a work around here, you are delusional if you think Trump or anyone sane will deport someone who came here as a child, has been here 30 years, doesn't espeak espanish, hasn't visited Mex, whose criminal record is similar to yours, has a US citizen wife and citizen grandkids.

from your prior posts, I understand you have an reflexive dislike for the Constitution when it comes to protecting anyone's rights other than yours, and I know you don't have a firm grasp on the American political process given that it is derived from whatever you read on the internet. The mass deportation or shooting of immigrants will not happen, so you're going to have to, in time, resign yourself to some kind of compromise. the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM Act), now stalled in Congress, if tweaked to require longer residency and earlier presence, is a good start.

There is a simple answer to this. Certainly those enabling illegal immigration will test this in court. Fine! Charge them with everything they did illegal, driving, using illegal IDs, working, not paying taxes, everything. Hit them hard and put them in jail for years and years. Then see how many illegals will be willing to sacrifice themselves to satisfy the ACLU.

Why shouldn’t we? If they came here yesterday or 30 years ago why should we continue to hold out that lure to more illegal immigration. Australia has a better policy in that if you enter their country illegally you will never get to stay period. That should be our policy too.

your imaginary version of the constitution is contrary to how it works in the world. this isn't the the bible, where you can make it mean whatever you need it to mean without any consequences. you constantly conflate what you want with with what the constitution says and its painfully boring to explain to you, over and over, that some foreigners have a constitutional right to be here or stay here and, that includes some here illegally.

you have, as usual, misstated constitutionally based law. not everyone here illegally can be deported.

if you missed that day in 7th grade civics, this is how it goes:

Article I Sec. 8 of the constitution (you should read it sometime) says Congress has the power:

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, ... throughout the United States

Congress enacted the Immigration and Nationality Act to carry out that constitutional mandate.

the INA and you disagree, and only the INA counts.

It is as simple as this; If you are here illegally then you are.. well here illegally and can be deported. I stand by my statement that we should deport everyone the law enforcement and border agents come in contact with who is here illegally. Just as the law enforcement takes everyone with a warrant for their arrest into custody and everyone who robs a bank is arrested, etc.
But the better question is why not. What is your best reason/excuse for allowing people to come here illegally and then simply allowing it to continue once they are caught/identified???

I'm not saying I like it, but that's what the law says.

I'll be reasonable and try to explain. look up the INA. look for (or simply google or run a search in the text) "waiver of inadmissibility" or "cancellation of removal". congress wrote all of this into the INA. you don't have to like it, but it would help if you understood it.

you are wrong and will always be wrong because nothing in life is simple except for the simple minded like you. an F2 visa holder -- wife of a college student -- overstayed her visa (meaning, she's one of the illegals you fear and loathe) because her family testified against MS-13 and she's been personally threatened with death if she returns home. she will get asylum under the law, whether you like it or not.

Our immigration policy as it exists today was a Democrat scheme hatched some 50 years ago by Ted Kennedy intended to flood the country with immigrants who could easily be swayed into the Democrat camp. It got out of hand and now we have literally millions of immigrants every year and soon America will be a 3rd world country. Why because of a terrible mistake by a dirty politicians for political gain. Can we stop it? Probably not because we have neither the guts nor the will. Will it destroy the U.S.? Oh yes... soon.

Realistically we're not going to deport everyone simultaneously. I'm fine with starting with felons and working down, if we find we have the time, the resources, and the public backing. Otherwise, I'm fine with deporting everyone who's causing a problem and negotiating an amnesty for the rest.
