We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Well, there are at least a couple of those things on that list I don't approve of. Mainly that last one, Trump appointing Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. That's clearly a violation of the Constitution which calls for a President to merely nominate somebody for the Supreme Court and then they have to be approved by the Senate to actually be seated at the bench. I'm frankly shocked that I haven't heard more about this clear example of Trump's authoritarian nature, I honestly wasn't aware that Trump had skipped the "advise and consent" part of the process.
