Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

QUOTE: Climate: The Greatest Scientific Fraud Of All Time -- Part XI Sure. Thousands of scientists from around the world are colluding on a fraud. Meanwhile, the record for warmest surface temperatures was set in 2016, beating the previous record set way back in 2015, Try actually reading the article.
Do it for the chil'run. Beezer the Beagle: Try actually reading the article.
We did. Thank you. No, you didn't. The article is junk science, and has been debunked many times. If you had the least interest in actual science, you'd have known that.
You're not a smart guy. You're more like a parrot. At this point it is laughable. The contortions that NOAA and NASA go through to change the data to hide the decline and then keep a straight face is getting to be humorous. We all just went through 2016, now known as the warmest year ever. It's not rocket science we all saw it and experienced it do we all believe it was warmer than it was in 1934? THAT is what these supposedly honest scientists are selling you (and the Brooklyn bridge too maybe). Most of us, at least those who went to school when American history was still being offered to students, remember the pictures from 1934. Who do you believe? The scientists or your own eyes?
As to Zach's point: Are "Thousands of scientists from around the world are colluding on a fraud"? Think about it. We actually know the answer to this. First of all any scientist or otherwise knowledgeable individual who disagrees with the "religion" of AGW will be fired, exorcised, crucified and face an inquisition. Very few climate scientists are willing to buck the dominant religious fervor of the warmies. But there is a second factor here too. That is that there aren't "thousands" of "climate" scientists who all agree on AGW. Most of this cadre of talking heads are simply not climate scientists at all. Many of them are researchers and professors whose income and future depend on this AGW meme. Most of the real scientists are more or less silent on this issue cowed into silence by the AGW storm troopers. Is there a conspiracy to push AGW? Absolutely! Are thousands of scientists in the conspiracy? No. Mostly just either bullied into silence or motivated by their own greed. GoneWithTheWind: It's not rocket science we all saw it and experienced it do we all believe it was warmer than it was in 1934?
No one experiences the global mean temperature. GoneWithTheWind: First of all any scientist or otherwise knowledgeable individual who disagrees with the "religion" of AGW will be fired, exorcised, crucified and face an inquisition. No. There are climate skeptics that hold jobs in science. They publish very little in terms of novel research though. GoneWithTheWind: Most of this cadre of talking heads are simply not climate scientists at all. Most measures of scientific opinion examine published research in climate science, hence they are working climate scientists by definition. Thousands of scientists also disagree. But you don't know that b/c you know nothing of the field or the industry.
DrTorch: Thousands of scientists also disagree.
So-called skeptics rarely publish novel research on climate. However, we'd be happy to look at any published research you believe to be relevant. Please see Dr. Joy Bliss' earlier post titled the half-life of medical knowledge. Maybe scientists jump on the climate change bandwagon because they all believe their industry to be infallible. Because it's SCIENCE.

We responded on the thread. QUOTE: Conrad Black: He has been elected by 65 million Americans No. That's closer to Clinton's vote total. Still, millions of people voted for Trump. Give it up, loser. You people got your asses handed to you because you were out of step with America. And you still haven't figured out the real reasons why. So continue with your ostrich act and pretend it was raaacism or the Russians or men Persons from Mars whatever the excuse du jour is.
Holy Shi'ite this is getting boring. Uh, Beezer. You do know that the Gang of Z is not from the US, don't you? At least one of them, and who knows how many there are, has admitted that.
Is there any reason to believe her? A plagiarism checker tool shows one loon.
Good point. They could be anybody anywhere.

Beezer the Beagle: Give it up
The facts support our claim. I've never seen anyone lie and misrepresent so consistently as you do.
Your credibility is dead. RE “Scientist” says that Starting Work Before 10am is Torture
QUOTE: companies who are forcing their workers to start before 10 am are contributing to serious emotional and physical stresses felt by their employees and encouraging longer term adverse health risks as a result of these strict, unhealthy working patterns. heh.. this isn't the USAF. I wish the opposition firms would keep 10am-3pm work hours, a four day work week and stay home on MLK Day. A lot of work out here on the West coast is tied to eastern financial markets, so, up early. The entertainment industry also keeps early hours, because location shooting needs daylight. Employers so often forget that the entire purpose of their businesses is to provide a comfortable standard of living and satisfying work environments for their employees.
That's why these articles and research results come strictly from people who've never employed anyone in their lives. Der Spiegel: Has political correctness backfired in America?
Yes. See Mr. Trump being inaugurated on the 21st. How exactly is productivity for a scientist measured? Some of the most productive scientists I've known have been either night owls or late morning - to evening workers (to provide some context to my observations, I did my PhD at Harvard). Is the important thing for a scientist to be productive in terms of innovative, creative research, analysis, writings, and presentations?
Or is the important thing for someone's ass to be in a certain seat by 9am and then out again at 5:30??? And yes, most of the time it comes down to that choice. You can always get idiot drones to sign up for the 9-5:30 job, but they will only produce cutout, paint-by-numbers type work and nothing innovative. Science is a fundamentally creative act, and people getting their panties in wad about a 10am start shows just how little is understood about intellectual productivity. JM01: How exactly is productivity for a scientist measured?
One measure is the impact of (citations to) published research; not hours worked, of course. |
