Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I'm an Economy voter. When I mention this in front of anti Trumpers, they assume I am voting for Trump. Now, why would that be? Is it a tacit acknowledgement that HRC would not be good for the economy? No one, I've met, ever makes the economic case for her; all they offer is Trump bashing.
10 Signs That An All-Out Attempt Is Being Made To Sabotage The Trump Campaign
LOL - he's the Republican nominee. The idea that somehow Clinton's election would irreparably damage the Republic is missing the point - Hillary's coronation was predetermined in 2012 when the Democrats realized they had the oppresssed minority vote locked up and the majority of the electorate is an oppressed minority. Hillary was never a "candidate", as in somebody the Democrats had to put forward as the one best able to appeal to independents and moderates in the general, Hillary was simply the one the Democrats wanted to be President and they knew it didn't matter who they put forward since the Dem primary was essentially the election. The GOP could have nominated Santa Claus and the media would have been all over his questionable past as a right-wing extremist Nazi baby-killing Satan-worshipper. The Republic is already toast; Hillary isn't a harbinger, she's the result. That's why the present corrupt system has to be burned to the ground, and Trump is the person to do it.
QUOTE: Breaking: Bob Dylan wins 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature Great choice, and "a long time a-comin'." Tells me a lot more about the current state of literature and its aficionados than it does about Dylan.
"'There needs to be a Catholic Spring, in which Catholics themselves demand the end of a middle ages dictatorship and the beginning of a little democracy and respect for gender equality in the Catholic Church,' Sandy Newman, president and founder of the progressive nonprofit Voices for Progress, writes to Podesta in an email titled 'opening for a Catholic Spring? just musing.'"
No one is forced to be a Roman Catholic. If you are unhappy with the Church's doctrines and teachings, you are quite free to leave. If you are not a Catholic, your views on those doctrines and teachings are merely your opinion, not your business. It's interesting that Newman things the Catholic church is in the middle ages but doesn't seem to be bothered by the backward, brutal, misogynistic, intolerant teachings of Islam.
If you are unhappy with the Church's doctrines and teachings, you are quite free to leave. You can't say that about Islam. The Catholic Church - and by extension all of Christianity - is a safe and consequence-free target for "progressive" criticism.
Islam not so much. New Podesta emails this morning were posted on Wikileaks showing more collusion with press, direct pay-for-play type stuff with Algeria, and campaign planning with Soros.
And this is not the end of the emails. There are more, and they will only get worse. Besides, can I point out that Wikileaks is not the Trump campaign. We have no idea what the Trump campaign has brewing for the last few weeks of October going into November. So much left to happen. Get ready! I know I am eagerly awaiting it all... You're not expecting the MSM to fully report about these emails are you? They're too busy claiming that Trump groped women ten years ago.
Right. I get that. Fox News has reported some. Catherine Herridge is doing a good job.
What I think we are starting to see is that many, many people do not trust the mainstream media. The more Wikileaks that come out with damaging info, the harder it will be to ignore. Haven't trusted them for yearrrrrrrrrrrrrs, Miss T Zach, on the other hand...
It's top-right of the front page on the print edition of this morning's Washington Post. They've reported on it each time there has been a new Wikileaks dump.
Wow, Zach! That's pretty impressive that you know the layout of the WaPo when you might not even be in the US!
We'll see much time is spent on the Wikileaks email dumps and the contents compared to where they came from (did they come from a Russian hack - regardless of any evidence), the amount of coverage given to accusers of Trump - regardless of any evidence or even comparing these allegations to similar allegations about Bill Clinton and Hillary's role in trashing the women, and/or how wonderful Hillary is. mudbug: That's pretty impressive that you know the layout of the WaPo when you might not even be in the US!
Hardly. You made a statement which was almost certainly false, that the mainstream media was not fully reporting on the hacked emails. It was simply a matter of verifying this by looking at the front page of the print edition of the Washington Post. The New York Times also reported on the emails this morning, again, on the top-right of the front page of the print edition of the New York Times. mudbug: We'll see much time is spent on the Wikileaks email dumps and the contents compared to where they came from (did they come from a Russian hack - regardless of any evidence) Newspapers, unlike cable news or partisan websites which constantly repeat the same stories over and over again, generally only report on news, that is, things that are new. A story can be self-feeding, though. For instance, Trump saying he gropes women has led to stories of women who claim to have been groped by Trump. Most security experts, as well as the U.S. government, are confident that the hacks of the DNC had high-level contacts in the Russian government. The hack of Podesta's emails is not certain. That the Russians scoop up as much data as possible is no secret. The U.S. does the same. However, the releases are clearly meant to influence the U.S. political process. Keep in mind you are being played.

I think everyone here agrees that nobody should be groped against their will.
I do find it odd, though, that those same news outlets won't report the well-documented cases of Bill Clinton not only groping, but actually raping women. I know you are paid to say that this is because the Clintons are paragons of virtue and that there is a vast, right-wing conspiracy of evil forces arrayed against them who lie about this. But the truth is that the Clintons have always threatened and intimidated those who would hold them responsible for their crimes. Ron Brown would testify if he were here.

In fact, all major news sources reported on the Broaddrick case when it was news. The reason it never went anywhere is because she signed a sworn affidavit stating that nothing happened. Dangerous Dean: I know you are paid Our opinions are our own, freely given. Dangerous Dean: to say that this is because the Clintons are paragons of virtue Hardly.

Dangerous Dean:
Correct, we are paid by the Clintons to correct incorrect thought. We are assigned North America Sector NE23 which includes Maggies Farm and Cat Fancy. Our junior assistant here does all of the shilling at Cat Fancy where he is somewhat over matched against the felines, but its good practice and that's how you get to Carnegie Hall.

It's the perfect crime! No not the groping the accusation. It's perfect. The low information voter sucks it up and no matter what is said or proven/not proven after the accusation the low information voter will forever believe that where there is smoke there is fire. It is criminal to make false accusations of a crime and it is criminal to conspire to make false accusations of a crime. But it is the 'perfect' crime. After the election and Hillary is president the accusers will disappear and Trump will carry the assumed guilt forever. But even if it were possible to absolutely prove that the accusers lied and the Clinton crime family conspired to put out the big lie it won't change the election results and no one will ever pay for the lie. It is the 'perfect' crime.

Actually, it's called a fact-check. Trump bragged “When you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything… Grab them by the p*ssy. You can do anything.”. The New York Times checked it out, and found confirmation. Rated: True

Indeed he did say that. He was talking about girlfriends and lovers. But don't let the facts get in the way of a smear campaign. There is nothing that can be said that cannot be misunderstood or misinterpreted.

QUOTE: RE The Black Death - At least one in three Europeans died and untold millions in Asia. What was the source of its brutal, lethal efficiency? the end of the medieval warm period, combined with several seasons of heavy rains happened at a time when populations in Europe had expanded to the limit of the carrying capacity of agriculture. The rains caused repeated crop failure in the early part of the 14th century, resulting in wide spread famine, including the Great Famine of 1315–17. the population that lived through the famines was not at peak, healthwise, when plague broke into the Med. aggravating that fact, Plague had disappeared from Europe since about the 8th century, so immunological responses in the population (exposure and survival confer some immunity) were gone, as was practical experience in dealing with that kind of infection. epidemic disease tends to be most lethal when it appears in populations without prior exposure, and plague is no different. plague is better understood as a relatively stable cycle of infection among rodents, fleas and y. pestis. plague appears in the human communities when something disturbs this stable cycle, such as war, displaced populations who do not have experience in living alongside plague reservoirs (for example, a local hunter would have learned not to trap or keep sick animals), etc. stable meaning, infected hosts do not die off quickly wholesale, and that is the situation in rodent populations in the asian steppes and the American west, which are old and new plague reservoirs. because humans aren't part of this normal cycle, there are no evolutionary pressures to moderate lethality, and people get collected in an epidemic like a NASCAR mass wreck. the strains of plague that caused the Plague of Justinian and the Black Death are extinct. What we learn from the article is that The Black Plague was a result of easy unrestrained transport from Central Asia and the Middle East.
BTW, that link has a nice British lady who reads the article to you. The whole topic in a soothing British accent is all the more chilling. Good for Halloween. Hubby and I went to Scranton this morning, Hilliary's hometown. Ican report in my unofficial drive by polling, not one HRC sign, but many Trump signs. She did however have one very large sign on 380 northbound said, "Lock Her Up". Just thought I would pass that along.
As demands on women's time increase, communities suffer--sounds like communities need to face up to what they always expected women to do, and pay for it honestly instead of expecting freebies, as if they were born entitled to women's labor. Aren't we always hearing how women overestimate the value of their labor?
It looks like a total phony made up story. I bet there is more benefit to the communities by not having the busybodies and harpies sticking their noses in where they shouldn't. The organizations cited are more like clubs for the bored and privileged than something useful. I certainly haven't missed them. Let them play bridge or something.
The Democrats/neo-liberals are attempting the greatest power grab in history. They intend to flood this country with (mostly) illiterate, poor and easily lead immigrants who will vote for free stuff and against the constitution. The neo-liberal is simply an old fashioned Marxist-socialist and they know the only way to move America to full socialist is to first destroy the middle class. Hillary will continue this and even accelerate it where Trump would derail it. Therefore Trump cannot be elected and will be Borked, Thomased (as with Anita Hill) and destroyed and if all of this fails the election will be outright stolen in five key states. Hillary will win and the only possible way to stop her is if she has a stroke or the Islamist terrorists pull off another 9/11 before the election.
