Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Hey Maggies, did you hear about Hillary stumbling after she left the 9-11 memorial? Why isnt it mentioned here?
She did not stumble. She collapsed.
Why not mention it? Because everybody knows already. California Climate Change Legislation Targets Flatulent Cows
Don't think this is only going to raise the cost of milk (and farming production costs all around) just in CA. what happens in CA usually follows in the New Jersystan and flows insidiously west and east to the entire country. The cage free egg regs raised costs countrywide. Florida Supreme Court rules doctors can be liable if patients commit suicide Then logically will doctors also be held liable if patients go on a murder spree and kill others. i'm reminded of a Shakespeare quote. "Florida Supreme Court rules doctors can be liable if patients commit suicide..."
Here in Canada where the oxymoronic concept of "assisted suicide" (i.e., sanctioned killing by physician) looks set to enter the law books, I've lately been thinking that the doctors are the weak link here and so ought to be the principal target of any concerted anti-euthanasia activism. I think it would only take a few well-placed wrongful death lawsuits by family members - "This doctor killed our dear mother!" - to make the medical profession gun-shy of the whole business. These actions don't even have to be successful; if they are lengthy and costly enough, doctors will become much more reticent about engaging in legalized patient termination. After all, how can you buy that shiny new BMW if you're up to your neck in lawyer fees? Liability insurance pays lawyer fees. It's baked into the medical fees, mostly paid for by the U.S. government or insurance scams schemes. BMW doesn't need to worry about sales yet.
QUOTE: The Washington Post is now essentially an arm of the Democratic National Committee... "It has done this with deep investigative dive into the penetralia of the Trump empire and no equivalent reporting about the Clinton emails" Let me Google that for you QUOTE: "the Clinton Foundation's corrupt pay-to-play scheme" Let me Google that for you QUOTE: or the nonstop lies from Clinton herself. Let me Google that for you Sam L: This is why I believe "my lying eyes", and not you.
That's why we Googled it for you. For instance, there are more than twelve thousand links on washingtonpost.com that concern Clinton emails. That's hardly ignoring the issue. You all missed the word "equivalent." It was important, in context.
But you all knew that. Even a cursory look at the articles shows that Clinton has been subject to much greater scrutiny.

No, what you call "scruitny" is really an effort by the media to cover their guilt.

I had a clearance for about 5 years. Top Secret/SCI. Hillary had access to stuff well above my level of clearance, and I could never have used the excuses she did.
Not only do you go through training about how to handle, label, transport, and destroy classified material properly, for all additional special compartmentalized material you gain access to, you 'read in' to that CODEWORD and sign more papers acknowledging the seriousness with which to handle such information. 'Read in' means you are approved to access specially marked materials with a certain origin (CODEWORD), you sit in a SCIF with a folder, read about the classification and its origins, and then sign stuff indicating you have familiarized yourself with the material and understand the responsibility that comes with it. I guarantee you Hillary had to be 'read in' to a bunch of different special compartmentalized information for TOP SECRET CODEWORD type stuff. Anyone with a clearance knows how serious this is. Thousands of government employees, military and contractors know what she did is unforgivable and would have put them all in jail if they'd done the same. What it showed is just how corrupt the FBI and Justice Department are under Obama. The rot and corruption are everywhere. Plus the Democrat media has done everything to cover her crimes up, just like her horrible health situation. It took shocking videos of an unconscious Clinton being tossed into a disguised ambulance (yes, that is what the Scooby van is) to show us what a hoax the whole thing is.
The good thing is that Clinton is all the Democrats have; the fact that they are reduced to running her shows how desperate they are and how they have no plan. The fact they rigged the nomination in favor of her should now have the Bernie supporters even more angry. We haven't even gotten into the payoffs to the Clintons and the laundering of money through the Clinton Foundation yet. Hopefully Assange releases some of that this week. "Hillary’s media is torching its standards to cover the election"
I disagree: a) WHAT standards? b) They did this years ago. It ain't new, it ain't even "recent". Re: How to Pick the Fastest Line at the Supermarket
No 1: Do not get in line behind "immigrants." Last week, the lines at the supermarket was held up 20-25 minutes while "immigrants" all presenting their EBT cards and multiple "free stuffs" vouchers from various levels of government clogged the checkout lines. They try to buy stuff not allowed by the vouchers, and when the checker says they can't use the voucher for that, they leave the line, go back and get something else and return, to hear the checker say that they can't use the voucher for that, etc. Meanwhile, one of them is hitting their kids, all of whom are screaming. As we left, I quietly told my wife, "this is why I am voting for Trump." These folks shouldn't be in our country, and they shouldn't be living off of us. Yes Jim. That and more.
I invariably get behind the woman with one item that sends her husband back for a bag of chips. Or the checker can't find the price of an item. Or the customer says the item was on sale and it is not entered that way in the computer, and the haggle ensues. Or the customer has alcohol and the cashier has to wait for the manager to ring up the sale. Or the scanner won't take someone's check/credit/debit card. It doesn't matter who I get behind or the length of the line. I always seem to get behind one of these people. The grocery gods hate me. This happened to me earlier this year at a Walmart, in the garden section no less. A full basket of food was sorted out and rung up using about four different cards. I'm not sure which card paid for about 25 pounds of lamb chops/steaks. She kept looking at me and apologizing for how long it took but it opened my eyes even more. No one gives us free stuff.
Re: You can’t win an American presidential election without the deplorables’ vote.
I guess we'll see, won't we? I know Hillary has a tin ear and often says horrible things, but I have a suspicion that the reason she felt comfortable using the deplorables line wrt to working-class white people is because the 2012 election showed that the deplorables vote does not in fact matter. The Dems have been using a sort of divide-and-conquer strategy, pitting one group against another and subtly (or not so subtly) getting these groups to think of themselves as groups - and once you've corralled enough of these minority groups you've got a permanent ruling majority. And now you feign shock and disgust that the one minority group you've been pitting everybody else against - the white male - decides to adopt your own tactics against you, play by the rules you've established. If it's okay to urge black voters to vote for the black candidate simply because he's black and the female voters to vote for the female candidate simply because she's a woman - what's wrong with urging the white male voters to vote for the white male candidate? You should have seen this coming. (That's a rhetorical question - there's an adage to the effect that when you fight a monster, take care that you don't become the monster. Trump's a monster - but the Left created him. You didn't want to compromise with us because we're all right-wing extremist Nazis? Fine - this is what you get when you don't allow for compromise.) |
