We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think DJT stumbled on 60 minutes over Pence's Iraq vote. It was a fair question. I can make a case for and against, so I don't think it is out of the question that reasonable and sincere people can disagree. Isn't the issue that HRC was for the Iraq war when it was convenient and against it when it was convenient.
I see that that you folks on the east coast are finally getting the "Seattle Power" picture. It would be nice if someone (NYT, Atlantic, NR, etc.) actually had the courage to begin to fully explain the power of Seattle to the people of America.

I'm convinced that the Turkish coup was all a farce. Everything I saw looked staged - like the soldiers were pretending. Erdogan is dictator now and the Republic of Turkey is over.
re Moochelle's starvation rations for school lunches.
We just received a letter from the school district. In our little district, school kids that were hungry could go back for free second helpings if the food was to be thrown away.
Well, someone reported them to the Feds and now that food must be thrown away lest the kids get fat.
And high school kids are limited to two ounces of protein.
For a regime that is all hellbent on "sustainabilty" and preserving resources, they are responsible for the destruction of millions of tons of food.
Go to any large truck stop. They have dumpsters for truckers to dump their loads when they are damaged because the supermarkets won't take the liabilitly to receive shipments when the boxes are damaged. The boxes, not the food itself. It must be destroyed. I've been on the receiving end of lots of food this way.
There's a produce farm behind me and they leave crops rotting in the field because the supermarkets won't take them when they are mis-shapen or the wrong variety.
Dairy farmers in my area are being paid below cost of production milk because they are supposedly dumping the excess, because there's a glut of milk. Even with all the ones that quit when the beef market skyrocketed a few years ago.
Lots of farmers have had their entire crops confiscated and destroyed for noncompliance to USDA or FDA regulations.
It's all about the boot on our neck. Not because they're stupid.
Lena Dunham Agrees Oberlin Cafeteria Sushi is Cultural Appropriation
I wonder if Lena Dunham is similarly upset about Japanese examples of engaging in "cultural appropriation." Consider Vermont Curry.
QUOTE:
House Foods Sauce Mix, Vermont Curry, Med/Hot:
Curry with a touch of apple and honey. Can be separated into two. 12 Servings (6 servings x 2). Product of Japan.
Here Japanese have taken from India and from Vermont! Consider baseball, a very popular sport in Japan, which is another example of "cultural appropriation."
Apparently "multiculturalism" is a good thing. But "multiculturalism," such as baseball in Japan, also leads to "cultural appropriation," which is a bad thing.
Conclusion: lefty thought processes are rather confused.
