Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

QUOTE: Britain’s new ‘Brexit minister’ has already made up his mind about the EU Open trade is always a two-edged sword. QUOTE: Trade deals with the US and China alone will give us a trade area almost twice the size of the EU Sure, but selling to China means opening your own markets to Chinese goods. That provides cheap manufactured products for consumers, but tends to crowd out local manufacturing. QUOTE: “We are not going to budge on control of our borders,” Davis writes. “Once the European nations realise that... they will want to talk, in their own interest.” Same two-edged problem. Brits want to be able to move freely in Europe, but don't want to provide access for Europeans to move freely in Britain. This applies not only to people, but to capital. Banking is one of Britain's largest industries. QUOTE: If they don’t, he adds, that will be their loss. It will be a loss for both sides. Trump is the only candidate among all the parties who recognized the danger of Stealth Jihad which has invaded our porous borders and is well positioned to do major damage. Last night's terrorist attack in Nice, France, proves his point. The EU and Merkel have ignored the danger and are now past the point of stopping Islam's march to its next caliphate.
The Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations, by sheer stupidity and greed, have welcomed the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates, while Middle Eastern countries such as the U.A.E. and Syria have identified them as terrorist organizations for decades. We must wake up. http://founderscode.com/hillarys-campaign-connect-to-turkeys-gulen/ Also, "Dr Walid Phares: ISIS in America" addressed this issue in detail on December 15, 2015. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHO3UrkhCl0#t=451 Re: On Terrorism and Immigration, America is not a Serious Nation
QUOTE: but the U.S. President cannot blame anything other than “violent extremism” for the brutal terrorist attacks on our own soil, one sees how deeply unserious a country America has become. If all terrorism is really the same, then you would need to attack it the same way. Since the common thread in most terrorist attacks is guns and hate, then the remedy is gun control and hugs. And that's what the Obama administration is proposing (see Obama and Lynch's recent comments). The common thread is hate, but the WMD go far beyond guns to bombs of multiple nature, swords and knives for beheadings, and stones. According to The O's and Hil's thought processes, we should ban trucks, pressure cookers, planes, socks and underwear…no end to the delivery systems. But blame terrorism on a sick totalitarian system that has left it's followers in chaotic slavery, poverty and illiteracy for centuries? No way.
Daddies and Dates- Good thing leftists tore down the patriarchy so women wouldn't get exploited. Gotta think W. Civ can only thrive with these arrangements.
Brexit will benefit Britain, as usual Zachriel makes claims that have no support. Britain will benefit b/c they will not be forced to do trade deals that favor Germany or the middle East. Instead Britain will do deals where both sides benefit, which is what trade is all about. It's been like that for England for centuries. And they won't suffer b/c Europe wants their tourism, their services and goods, and will trade for it. British tourists are better than Tunisian. The threats otherwise were a ploy to affect the vote. DrTorch: Brexit will benefit Britain, as usual Zachriel makes claims that have no support.
Actually, we didn't claim whether Brexit would be a net benefit or cost to Britain. Rather, we pointed out that there are both positive and negative effects with regards to trade deals. DrTorch: Instead Britain will do deals where both sides benefit, which is what trade is all about. Even if there were a net gain in economic activity, there are still individual winners and losers. DrTorch: It's been like that for England for centuries. Now that's really funny considering that for many centuries Britain was a mercantilist empire. Nothing to fear about the Navy's demonstrated unwillingness to fight, failure of command, incompetence, laziness and cowardice - Obama and Ash Carter are bravely addressing what they call the greatest threat tour national security. Global Warming. It was recently announced that selection and promotion of Officers will be based on desire to fight Global Warming" after proper understanding of sensitivity training.
If they had resisted capture, it would have increased their carbon dioxide emission. Understand, Obama has been undertaking a long-running purge of our armed forces' officer corps since he took office. Plus he has installed political correctness personnel (diversity officers) to spy on and report any infractions. (Same concept as "political officers" inserted into every Soviet unit to spy on and report officers for any deviation from Marxist doctrine.) Your future is over if you don't sign on to his plans on homosexuals and transgenders being given preference in the military, women being relieved from having to conform to physical fitness standards, etc., etc., etc.. Here, we have had 3 base commanders of our local Marine base relieved from command for "lack of confidence" over the past year for "inappropriate" comments and actions. No one can say anything, but everyone knows what is going on. Anyone who speaks up against the inane policies of Obama has his or her career ended and is forced out.
There doesn't seem to be an era colleges are allowed to party-theme because of something that someone, somewhere did wrong. (Actually, I'll bet the 60's would be acceptable, but it's already pretty trite.) How can this not be seen as a desire to erase history, so that young minds have no array of facts to set against the thinking of the present day. Only neutered and defanged past - a pet past - will be allowed, lest we learn something by accident.
My proposal is that colleges should have a 2015-themed party. It's the safest thing. Another proposal is to completely eliminate federal funding and student loans for sociology and victimhood departments (he Japanese recently did a similar thing),
block all federal funding to universities having graduate schools with more than 15% foreign students funded by federal funding/grants (federal dollars for our own citizens, not competitors), make university administrators personally liable for political intimidation or harassment of students or faculty with university approval or accommodation. Loss of employment for university administrators who promote, tolerate, or accept bullying by PC fascists against students or faculty. . I've had Wellfleet oysters in Wellfleet. They are special. And that's just a great town. Paine Road? With some little oyster farms at the end of it.
My mother lived in Cummaquid for a time, and Wellfleet had me half-seriously contemplating buying a run down home ($40 K as I remember) that in any other locale would have been considered a garage. If one had the money for a decent house there, Wellfleet would be the bomb. |
