Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Tuesday, July 5. 2016You can’t avoid the truth, sad as it may be: Trump is the only revolution we’ve got.”When in the course of human events…” Well, we’ve reached that course. Hillary Clinton is corrupt and corrupting of everyone she touches. President Obama has engaged in outrageous executive conduct so often as to be numbing. Those in powerful positions throughout this administration behave like lawless thugs and keep getting away with it. The courts have been packed with judges who find excuses to not enforce the laws or who create ones out of ideology contrary to intent. The major media shamelessly look away or cover up for the lawless and abusers, and seek every opportunity – or blow out of proportion every trivial thing – to damn opponents of the regime. Much of the Republicans in office lack the guts or integrity to fight back, outside of mewing noises. Where does that leave us now? The Tea Party movement occurred at a point in time between elections, and succeeded in electing many who promised to be better. Some have been. Many have been useless or become tools. Now, it is election time, and the demonstration we require is at the ballot box. Donald Trump is far from the perfect leader. But, then it takes someone with gumption and determination who will not be intimidated to take on the rot that permeates our government and self-appointed ruling class. And, Trump is the only revolution we have available. Anyone deserves the end of our once-renowned Republic who stays home or turns coat or otherwise fails to stand up for recovering an America with basic laws and justice, an America which is not beholden to those who would exploit the government for self-aggrandizement or profits, an America with justice for all which does not favor the wealthy or powerful sycophants of state power. Get out and work for local candidates and for Trump. Otherwise, be part of the ruination. It's that simple and brutal a truth. Comments

I think you are right Bruce.
The other side is evil. The only tool most of us have to fight that evil is the vote. Having said that I don't share your optimism that Trump can turn things around. The PC rot has spread too far into the GOP and the Deep State is out of control and accountable to no one. It's all going to burn and damn all we can do about it. There just aren't enough of us remaining who want to see things turned around. My two cents worth. The American Left Has Won
http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/07/the_american_left_has_won.html Amen, Bruce. The rule of law is gasping on the ground. I vote 'Trump'.
Is this Administration trying to light the fuse? They know we have eyes and can see, yet they flaunt their actions in our faces, taunting us.
If we can just make it through November... look how easy it was for the Brits to step away from their would- be masters. "The Tea Party movement occurred at a point in time between elections, and succeeded in electing many who promised to be better. Some have been."
Who?? W.H.O.???????!?!?!?!?!?!?! Name ONE POS politician who hasn't exposed themselves as a lying sack of crap. Rep. Jim Bridenstine, for one.
I could name several in my state government that have been elected in recent years that are making a valiant, honest effort, but you wouldn't know them. Donald Trump is a lying POS. If he were to be elected, he would screw over his dim-bulb supporters on the Right just as fast as he stiffed his small business suppliers in Atlantic City. It boggles my mind that people can be such suckers as to think a NYC crony capitalist who's spent his whole life in bed with liberal democrat pols has suddenly metamorphasized into a disinterested patriotic conservative. My dog has more principles than Donald Trump. Frankly, I'm not even sure that Trump wants to be president. It is entirely possible that he entered the race as a buddy of the Clintons just to throw a monkey wrench in the GOP works, and the project has since run away with him.
But I'm quite sure you would agree and admit he is orders of magnitude more honest, noble, kind, clean, considerate, etc., than crookedkillary.

Hey Zincavage, don't you have a big enough billboard on your goddamn site?
Jesus Kriste man, give it a 'fuking rest. So David, the lying Hillary or the shuck and jive community organizer will be or have been better for this country?
That is the problem that every no-Trumper has. Either they are nothing more than shills for Hillary or they are ignorant of what they wish for. There is of course a third possibility and that is that the No-Trumper wants and hopes that electing Hillary will be so disastarous that we will all fall in line and do what the elite ruling class wants and never dare step off the reservation again.
Dear Mr. Kessler:
You are absolutely right on this issue. He is our best hope. Just like Breixit--not the best solution--but the best hope for starting a move toward regaining our many lost freedoms. Trump is the only revolution we’ve got.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_Qo2-vQXQ4 Every body has to learn how to adjust to the decline, after all
we have been the frogs in pot with the heat being turned up to the point that we are now cooked. We well deserve our decline, as we have done nothing to stop it. The ship has sunk with personal self indulgence, and a total non involvement of local and national politics by the average person, added with two many years of our children being brain washed and rendered ineffectual as free thinking Americans. There will not be another American revolution, we had our time, and let it slip from our hands. The original liberals, those entitled by the king of England that never wanted the American Revolution and lost there lands and status are now reclaiming what belongs to them. Stop whining, its over. Don't care what they're doin'
Do what I do without 'em Don't mean nothin', nothin' to me Can't touch me, no They can't see me They barely hear me laughin' While they spin around wishin' Somebody come around and show 'em How to find How to find the way To any signpost Got lost along the way If I were Trump I would be watching my back. Between the Democrats/Clintons and the globalists I'm not sure he will make it to November.
We are in deep doodoo. Trump may not be the best person for the job but he is the only one in line with the right ideas. With or without Trump we are going to hell in a hand basket. The economic problems and the world problems are going to bite us in the ass. I doubt we can fix our problems easily but we can make them worse with the wrong leader. No matter who wins the next 4/8 years are not going to be pretty. We are going to have to endure some tough times before we come out on the other side. Dark days ahead. Welcome to the party. We have the choice of a ruthless and incompetent criminal from the hard left or a highly energetic and capable executive from the center-right who loves America but ruffles some peoples' feathers.
You can't always choose your saviors. Just ask the Temple Jews: they were expecting Messiah in the form of a dynamic military leader, but got him in the form of a humble carpenter. Most of them failed to recognize Him. In Tuesday’s posts, we get some insights from Joel Kotkin re: pushback against the neo-liberal global crony capitalism order, and Ace of Spades re: security over liberty. I think both have a point.
I can hardly believe that there are enough "Makers (who aspire to contribute to their communities and grow the economic pie)" left to turn the tide against the “Takers at the Top” and the “Takers at the Bottom”, but OTOH, I never guessed that Brexit would prevail in a referendum. Just a reminder that anyone could have coopted the message that resonates with the “Makers” but didn’t. I hope we all know that as cringe worthy as the Trump campaign has been, if he’d played by the media / party rules and not been self funding, he’d be nowhere, and we would have to choose between more of the same, crony capitalists, excepting Bernie. Take note, also, that if it hadn’t been for fracking, the stagnant economy for working people since 2008 would have been compounded. This reprieve was not thanks to our governing class. I see you got a shout out @ IOTW...............They are not Trump people, well not a 100%......................
In light of headlines like this---Mexican Cartel at Texas Border Has Russian RPGs---voting for Trump is, or should be, a no-brainer.
http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2016/07/05/mexican-cartel-texas-border-russian-rpgs/ If we're going down, let's go down fighting. Never Trump.
Never Hillary. I will never vote for anyone like them. I would prefer to not vote if they were the only 2 options, but thankfully 2 very successful governors are running on the Libertarian ticket and I intend to vote for them. To say Never Trump, Never Hillary might sound nice, but it's a fantasy. The president will end up being one of those two no matter what efforts are put into a third party. In essence, you're believing in a lie.
What's more, the two libertarian governors can have a real effect on our culture and society by continuing to work at the state level. The states have the power to put the federal government in its place. I agree, Jack. The states' leadership is critical to our Republic. Keep the great governors where they are as we will need them to take back all the powers stolen during the last several Federal administrations as they consolidated power in D.C.
The really great governors will distribute this power back to the local level where is truly impacts and responds to its citizens, then will deep-six those mountains of regulations tying the hands of our small businesses and farmers. I'm looking forward to a YUUUGE bonfire, much like the one Hilarity lit to burn all her e-mails. TRUMP 2016 You may be correct. But we don't vote for a winner. We vote for what's best.
People, right now, say Johnson can't win for one reason. As much as they'd prefer to vote for a reasonable person, they are afraid that everyone else will stick to party lines and make that reasonable person an unreasonable choice. So they, too, stick to party lines - saying "you're wasting your vote" or "he'll never win" - forgetting if they simply employed a modicum of reason to their own thought process, they'd vote for that person who can never win, and potentially help him win. Johnson, in a mere 2 months, went from less than 1% of the vote to over 9%. Without doing anything. Can he win? Sure. Will he win? Different question entirely. But it's not a fantasy to say never Trump or never Hillary. I despise both. Abhor them. They will represent me far less than that nitwit in the WH currently does. I can't vote for either of them any more than I could vote for him (which I didn't). The fantasy is really voting for Trump, or Hillary, and thinking you're getting what you voted for. Neither are what people think they are - I'm not even sure I know what they are. So fine - stick to your tired party lines. We need a revolution, that's for sure, but we won't get one. All we are being offered is a choice between Crassus and Julia Domna (or, if you will, Livia Drusilla, if you believe all the people she's had killed). Either way, I won't vote for them. But I'm also not pretending that Johnson will be president, only that I know my vote will be made with a clear conscience - and I can attack either of these fools based on that clarity. Hillary must never become president.
Trump is indeed the only revolution we've got. Some say he will be a "strong man" but I think he will take his cues from the people - what a concept! Even if Trump only accomplished 10% of what he says he will do, I will be happy. But I think he will accomplish much more than that.
A man with billions and the world at his feet did not need to risk his life, his family's lives, his business, his reputation for this. he could've easily lived out a life of ease and contentment with his wife and children and grandchildren. Look at this way: the Clintons owe everything they have to politics. They would not be millionaires without it. They would not have power without it. Trump earned everything he has (power and money) through business. Politics is not necessary for him. That's all you need to know when you walk into the voting booth. Trump is not a revolution, he's a con man. Here's my criteria for voting trump:
1. Says he a rich guy who will self finance. Put $500Million in your campaign without loan or restriction now to prove your bonafides. Other donors are waiting to see this. Surely if he's worth $10B he can do this to be President in a heartbeat. 2. Commit to Support the Constitution today and not just weasel words. 3. Provide details of his policies. No more hiding behind "great negotiatiors" since a real negotiator has a goal to work for. Does he really want to withdraw from NAFTA? Go to the Canada/US border crossings any day of the week and ask truckers, businessmen and others how much they would lose. Ditto for Mexican borders. 4. Provide a plan for divesting himself of his business interests if he is elected to avoid conflicts of interest (and no giving it all to your kids doesn't count). If he really wants to lead the nation, he will be happy to do this. If not it's all a con. Well, he already said he's not self financing. So that's out the window.
He's also already said he doesn't support the Constitution (by talking about how he feels there's too much freedom of speech and his willingness to get back at people who bad mouth him). He HAS provided details of his policies publicly, on his site - but has backtracked on almost all of them in his speeches. That last point? Good luck with that. No chance. He's in it to get richer, not help people. He's Crassus. Finance
http://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-wont-self-fund-general-election-campaign-1462399502 Constitution http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/01/donald_trump_and_freedom_of_speech_hes_no_champion.html Backtracking http://www.mediaite.com/tv/donald-trump-everything-i-say-on-the-campaign-trail-is-just-a-suggestion/ I could get more into detail but face several issues: 1. people would complain about sources - no matter how legit they are 2. He is so all over the map, you have no clue what he really stands for, regardless of what he's said or has on his site. 3. His outrageous nonsense is too hard to follow because there is so much of it. His visit to Scotland and statements about how happy the people were about Brexit (which I supported and agree with, as did Trump...but the Scots DID NOT by a huge margin) show just how out of touch with reality he is. I'm constantly amazed that people take him seriously. I know 2 people who know Trump. 1 was offered a job, the other worked for him. The one with the job offer turned it down saying "Mr. Trump, you're not the kind of man I can work for." The other, who worked for him, despised him saying he was one of the worst people he ever worked for - and lost his job because he took vacation. Trump approved the vacation. Then decided he didn't approve it AFTER the fellow left. Oddly, and I still can't figure out why, but I think it's because of party politics and hatred of Hillary, this guy who despises Trump is going to vote for him. He says he'd vote for someone else - but doesn't see anyone else. If you don't see, you ain't looking, that's all I can say. |
