We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Pro-Clinton and -Bernie violence

At Althouse:



San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, a Clinton supporter, praised the police... “At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign”....


Incredible. Liccardo isn't some small-town naif. This is San Jose, and Liccardo is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.



The violence appears to mostly come from immigrants with Mexican flags, and Bernie people. Trump supporters themselves never bother anybody.

A few in the MSM are reporting that these are paid protestors (a few are simply opportunist who don't want to let a good crisis go to waste) paid for by the Left. But most in the MSM either ignore it or like the Mayor blame it on the Republicans.

I wonder why this 'Harvard Educated Lawyer' chooses to spell San Jose California incorrectly?

The City of San José is committed to open and honest government and strives to consistently meet the community’s expectations by providing excellent service, in a positive and timely manner, and in the full view of the public.

May as well be San Jose, Costa Rica.

I can think of few more efficient way to win Trump supporters that a ton of footage of these brainless thugs protesting him week after week. It makes even me warm to the man.

One hopes that is the way it will play out Texan99. OTOH intimidation may work.

The chasm between left and right is getting wider and deeper IMO.

I find it interesting that the left has been physically assaulting those on the right at least since the formation of the TEA Party. They are using the regulatory/administrative state to attack those on the right, and they have the social media, which can sensor the conservative message.

They do all those things to us.

And we sit there and take it.

Everyone needs to be nice and allow others to speak and gather. Really, the bitter clingers are very gracious forgiving people by nature and the Christian philosophy. However, they too have their limits as to how much disrespect and violence they will allow without some serious pushback.

Really, some civility from the left is long past due. Do not mistake kindness for weakness
