We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I read Scott Adams' take on the way Trump conducted that and I have to agree, he presented himself as Presidential, not a candidate. He handled himself well and nailed the key points, such as repeating his disavowal before explaining in re: to the David Duke issue.
Some of his statements on policy are still fanciful, but he also kept repeating how he was bringing in all these people.
It was a purposeful set up that may impact the closed primaries since he is showing himself as the candidate who can win.
Are the R's gonna triple down on stupid and continue to denigrate the Trump supporters?
How come they can't figure out that by doing so they are reaffirming what the disenfranchised already believe about GOPe motives and fueling Trumps campaign?
Curious about what Romney is going to say?

Yes the GOP is that dumb, Voter. They have blinders on and are in their defensive bunker still trying to get rid of both Cruz and Trump. Their mentality is that they know what is best for us even if we are too stupid to recognize it.
If we can fire most of the existing R' in the Senate / House that are up for reelection this year that will be the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end of the GOP as it currently Exists.
The more press conferences he does, the more he will show voters that Hillary stinks as a candidate. And how crummy Obama is as a president. This event is closer to what Trump is in his every day life at his corporation. Notice also that Melania is now doing interviews. Would an accomplished, intelligent, beautiful woman put up with a crazy man? No. She could've had her pick of men and chose Trump. The other thing you are starting to see more of are his children. Not raving lunatics, nor druggies or drunkards in the society page gossip column--smart, well-educated, cool-as-cucumbers, genteel, etc. You think a raving madman could have children like this?
Primary Trump got the attention he needed to break out of the pack and get where he is today. Presidential Trump has only just begun.
Exactly.
And lest we forget, Trump didn't create this constituency, it already existed. He just gave it a voice. There is speculation and it is possible, but probably premature to say so, that we could be witnessing a realignment of the political factions. Imagine the real people of Main St vrs the "K Street" types and their minions, who are insulated from the negative effects of their policies.
