Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Donald Trump is doing America a service"
In this article the author says : "Trump has been trolling fellow GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush by blaming 9/11 on George W. Bush." Not exactly an honest statement. What Trump has said about this is true, conversely what the media claims Trump said about this is false. Trump said that if he had been president he would not have allowed these terrorists to enter and leave the country freely. That makes good sense to me. Shouldn't we know who enters the country and when they leave. We do not. There should be a database and an accurate accounting for these people be they casual tourists, students, people intending to overstay their visa or terrorists. But today there is nothing. We kinda hope they will go home when their visit is done but if they don't we will remain clueless. The author also said: "His take on illegal aliens at the Mexican-American border...is hardly part of the traditional national consensus on immigration" Really!! Does anyone understand Trump's popularity? Iy is exactly because he has taken a strong position on illegal immigration that he is popular. This consensus the author talks about is an inaccurate and totally fabricated political talking point. The politicians want more immigrants in the hope they will vote for them the citizens do not want more immigrants to make us the new 3rd world nation. Re: Death of Europe
Europe is a dead continent (and culture) walking. Unrestrained immigration of people who hate their way of life will kill it for real in due time. What the Moors could not do in the 700s, the current crop of Muslims are doing now. If Obummer has his way, we will be next in line. Where Did Colleges Go Wrong? From 'puppy days' to trigger warnings, higher ed needs a course correction.
why should I care about some kollege kid who gets his panties at-wist over cultural appropriation? a year after graduation he's going to be run over by someone who didn't. life culls out losers like that. You could be right. I hope so, but each generation determines it's society and the society they seem to want to create scares me.
Lilly-white, Progressive "Principal holds up student election results because winners not diverse enough"
She exercised her White privilege to impose her desired outcome upon the diverse student body. Because, elections are only of value when the outcome is that desired by the Democrat. One wonders what lessons the students will take from this?
I can't help but think it has been a valuable learning experience for the kids. Somewhat like the little "clockmaker" who is now moving to Qatar after his visit to the White House, boxes of goodies from Microsoft, reporters clamoring to get his story, etc.
I wonder what his classmates are taking away from this experience? One wonders what lessons the students will take from this?
LESSON: When you grow up, make sure you are the one in power; because then you get to have your way even if other people want something different. That's it. That's it exactly. I would correct it only to say make sure your people are the ones in power. It need not be you specifically.
"Where Did Colleges Go Wrong? From 'puppy days' to trigger warnings, higher ed needs a course correction."
Nah, burn 'em. We are at the point where the knowledge can be free. The universities only still control the credentials. That's probably why universities and professors are so adamantly anti-capitlalist. They fear a world where winners are chosen by their merit demonstrated by their contributions to the well-being of their fellow man through the provision of goods and services efficiently and cheaply. See, universities are anachronism from the old status society and abhor the capitalist society where a man or woman can succeed without so much as a by your leave to the university. "Conservative female author of ‘The War on Men’ disinvited to speak at Williams College after protests"
I am so glad I went to Williams before political correctness hit and destroyed it. Now the college is a joke, in my opinion. It still has high rankings, but in my opinion doesn't deserve them, in large part because of the oppressive Stalinist political correctness that stifles all expression and thinking at the school. It's frightening they now just turn out little leftist liberal robots who can't reason for themselves and simply recite the "party line"-- a lot of those graduates are being fed into the top law and other professional schools to reinforce the System. As an alum, I only give Williams a nominal donation every year so I keep on getting the calendar. The only vaguely "pc" debate we had when I was there was what to do about the Latin diploma. It was still written in the male gender although we had gone coed (oops, sorry for the use of the offensive insensitive sexist word). His Piety, Your Neighbourhood:
Progressive elite on immigration is the same as progressive elite on public housing. All for it, but not in their neighborhood. I'm going to start agitating for public housing projects on the snooty side of town where the local university faculty and professors live. |
