Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Truth, beauty, and justice


Evan Sayet, at first a Jewish New York City liberal-lefty, reflected on how his gradual political evolution was cemented by 9-11: Regurgitating the Apple: How Modern Liberals "Think"



 What I discovered is that the Modern Liberal looks back on 50,000 years, 100,000 years of human civilization, and knows only one thing for sure: that none of the ideas that mankind has come up with--none of the religions, none of the philos­ophies, none of the ideologies, none of the forms of government--have succeeded in creating a world devoid of war, poverty, crime, and injustice. So they're convinced that since all of these ideas of man have proved to be wrong, the real cause of war, pov­erty, crime, and injustice must be found--can only be found--in the attempt to be right.

This is a group of people who would fit under the 'works' model of religion. They want to find something in life that acknowledges their achievements and makes them feel like they are 'better' than someone else. It is a human failing of ours. When they apply this to the world, they really think that we can 'do' something and become 'better' as a human race.

Those of us who are realists (and most Christians) know that man will always have evil in him. We will always be greedy, power-hungry, selfish, etc. These characteristics will never go away. Some will prove to be better people than others (as their bad parts are less destructive), but there will always be bad people to deal with.

No amount of philosophy, education, meditating...whatever action you wish to stick in here...will eliminate the bad. We ALL have it.

We progress in one area, only to fall backwards in others. Too bad the liberals can never accept that. They will always be battling for a utopia that can never exist.

I didn't understand that out of context. But from the article, it is one of those epiphany points. The Liberals work to abolish anyone attempting to be "right". Of course, they believe they are right in doing this. But they are also blind to absurdity.

Certainly explains the destruction of the Humanities. You really can't read the humanities if your goal is to abolish the search for truth, the investigation of right and wrong, learning from history.

Thinking about it, this also explains the abomination known as modern art.

Imagine there is no beauty. It's easy if you try. Just consider modern art. Then try not to cry. For crying is a judgement and that just will not do. For the Leftist, ugly is beauty and will prove your heart is true.

Leftists/liberals are the party of division, deviancy, dependency, destruction and death. What is right is wrong, what is bad is right.
they are still mad that Adam got unfairly kicked out of Eden for a fruit so in defiance they will build their own Utopia even if it kills you.
