We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Clinton update links

Some thoughts about Mr. and Mrs. Clinton below the fold so as not to overburden our front page with annoying Clinton links -


It's an issue of character. We all know not to look for high character in those inclined towards careers in politics but, policies aside, I think the Left can do better than these grifters and con artists. Even their "marriage" is a fraud, and so is the Clinton Foundation.


I think even the MSM press is weary of them and their endless BS. I am, anyway. Rejected once; why try again?


And I'll ask once again, How does one accumulate a $200 million bank account and a $2 billion slush fund in "a life devoted to public service"? Perhaps that trick can be listed as one of her major life accomplishments. I am impressed by that.


She is the "I went to Wellesley, and I married a sociopathic redneck politician" candidate. Wow.

She will retain a core of followers no matter what she does, as that is how human beings are wired. People wept at the death of Stalin, after all. There are also enough people who would never vote for a Republican that they would cast their ballot in her favor, no matter how much they disliked her. Or they would stay home (which is why down-ticket Republicans might be hoping for a Hillary nomination. Whatever happens, her coattails won't be long).

The target group must be those in the middle, who are largely (though not entirely) not undecided as in "thinking about my choices," but unexcited, as in "I'm waiting to feel something." We can hope that the groundswell of people thinking her too shady, too tired, too irritable grows.

The Clintons were the beginning of the rapidly increasing downward slide of our country. They showed that dishonesty pays, whether financial, personal, political, ethical and moral. So long as you can lie with a straight face you can get away with it.

Literally the first speech I heard made by Bill Clinton when he first ran for office was him excoriating Bush the Elder for raising taxes. And then Clinton said, "you can read MY lips, I will not raise your taxes!" And that was pretty much the first thing he did when he got in office. And to this day, as far as I know, the press has NEVER called him out for this Big Lie.

Now they happen virtually every day.

If you don't mind my saying it, I think Hillary's career seems positively Argentinian.

If she did get into the White House, you'd have to paint it pink and rename it the Casa Rosada.

You guys are playing in the gotcha game. Go to VietNam and the Golden Triangle. That's what the Clintons did the second month they were out of office. Ever since then the money has been flowing in--of course, they opened up Viet Nam to our people before they left office--then after office they got in on the dope deals of the world. The TOP OF THE PYRAMID DOPE DEALS!
