We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
My first "firearms" were BB guns and pellet guns, not counting bows and arrows. I was shooting BBs at targets when I was 7. My first real firearm was this old 20 ga. Iver Johnson single shot which my Grandpa gave me. It was an oldie then.

My first shotgun was a loaner, my dad has a single shot Winchester 20 ga. that is a traditional "first gun" for all the sons and grandsons in the family.
My first shotgun of my own was a 16th birthday present Ithaca Model 37 pump gun. Still own it.
My first was J.C. Higgins .410. Killed a lot of ducks and rabbits with it. It was for Christmas when I was 9. Wish I still had it, plastic stock and all.
