We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The NYT says it was “Don’t let THEM immanentize the Eschaton”, which might have a different meaning, but I don't know, I'm Catholic. How'd that election work out? Q.E.D.

Does that bring back memories! Buckley gathered an interesting throng around him, whether or not you agreed with his politics. One of my teachers used to assign his column or TV program as a source for our vocabulary notebooks. You know, find the meaning and use the word in three sentences. I know some words that I have never used just because of Mr. Buckley. Can you image being one of his kids sitting around the dinner table discussing the day's news?
