We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Simple and delicious. I think adding chicken ruins it, but some people prefer it like that. Bean sprouts are essential, as are chopped scallions on top. I usually sprinkle more soy sauce on top after it's done.
Angel Hair or Thin spaghetti are right for this. When you think about it, is normal-sized spaghetti good for anything? I don't think so. I hate it because the flavor/pasta ratio is too low with it.
I spice my version up. I add a couple of tsp rice vinegar, some hot sauce, some chopped fresh cilantro, chopped garlic, dash of cumin, tsp of fiery mustard, maybe a dollop of honey to balance the heat. Unsalted roasted peanuts are nice added if you don't have chicken, tho we dont usually bother w meat. My kids view it as the ultimate emergency meal as you always have the ingredients. Its good cold, and leftovers to office for lunch. If cold, a quick way to cool after cooking is to add frozen petite peas to pasta and sauce.
