Surely this opening sentence in the linked article is setting up a straw man here? It reeks utterly.

Old Vicky herself may have been proper enough to have been scandal-free through her own life, but to suggest that "society" (whatever that means ) was the same is altogether unrealistic.

If you add the number of people in what the French would class as "Anglo-Saxon" countries, the number is approximately 400+ million people. This is perhaps indicative of an innate horniness therein. It was not exclusively the descendants of the Norman barons that are responsible for the obvious degree of sexual "exploration" across the AS world...
