A quote from Jack Straw in the Scotsman (P'line found the article):
"If people looked at these cartoons and were to replace the images of the Holy Prophet with images of Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary, they can see that, even in our culture, if they were directed at the Judeo-Christian traditions, there would be similar outrage," he said.
That relativistic, morally nihilistic, ridiculous, patently untrue and pathetic statement says everything that is wrong with the England of Tony Blair. Does that thinking imply that if England had had high inflation and a rotten economy in 1923, they would have created their own Hitler with their own Pub Putsch? Indeed, it reveals the limpness of Liberalism in the West - along with its elevation of emotion above reason. "Let's not make anyone angry." Grow up, weenies. The world isn't like that - being a wimp is not a defense strategy to protect your nation.
