We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
With apologies to those who love their dogs so much they must take them everywhere they go. I don't want a dog in a restaurant. I don't like the dogs I see people all the time bringing into stores now. Recently I had a minor operation and while waiting the volunteer brought by a dog that is supposed to calm people. For crying out loud my insides were about to be opened get the fricking dog out of here! I could not eat at my mother in laws house because of her dog and cat (not to mention the smell). Do I like dogs? I love dogs, I love cats. I have no desire to own one or have one in my house or car but I enjoy other people's dogs and cats. Just don't bring them around my food or personal areas. I really don't get this new fad of carrying a dog while you are driving. I also avoid "dog friendly" motels.
