Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Political QQQs

That was written 8 years ago but I believe, to be more accurate, there has been slight cooling since 1995, not 98.

"Worried"?  I thought we were supposed to get worried if it got warmer, not if it didn't...but I don't really care what the weather does. I like any and all weathers except for tornadoes.

Very long, and complicated, but the final bit is accessible to the least scientific minds.

What's funny is that in physics, when you see (or believe) heat is entering a system, and there is no corresponding temp change, then the obvious answer is, a phase change.

You know, like ice melting.

Yet no-one is pointing to ice melting (Arctic, Antarctic, etc) as the reason the temps aren't rising because...wait for it... it's not melting! Well, no more than usual.

That's why the 'mystery' is even worse than being let on.

CO2 is so powerful, so effective a greenhouse gas that the earth will continue to warm as the CO2 in the atmosphere continues to rise. OOOOPS!
