Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

America! F*ck yeah!!! Where else in the world would you find such entrepreneurial opportunities? I wonder to what causes he donates to assuage his white guilt? And is he doubly guilty for being male?
Lefties loooooooove being told how good they have it and how they should be ashamed of it. Kinda like lashing their own backs with a cat-of-9-tails (of velvet and gossamer) in penitence.
Why didn't I think of that? I coulda been rich! I coulda been a contendah! (P.T. Barnum RULEZ!) Why doesn't he just call his books/lectures "I Hate Myself - and You Should, Too."
Another spoiled , overindulged, undisciplined Bill Ayers type more than ready to sell out the liberty of others in order to build his own nest in the collectivists tradition.
Having been born in Seattle, WA what d'ya suppose ol Microsoft has to do with this group? Or for that matter the former Episcopal Church?
--i believe you're on to something fairly out of sight but big. Suffice to say, all of history is somehow being weighed the same --counter to modernism's 'now' always being the matter at hand.
The Episcopal Church led a processional at the conference to atone for white guilt. Video here:

http://vigilantcitizen.com/sinistersites/sinister-sites-st-john-the-divine-cathedral/ The two sites are similar, but one has better pix of the early-90s-carved embellishments. The 'vigilent citizen' site has a number of URLs on similar stonework appearing round the world, most begun in the eary 1990s it seems. I'm no Bible scholar by ant means, but a stroll through aearh reveals that there is a very fundamental disagreement on whether or not St John the Apostle and St. John the Divine are the same person. The latter if the same person would have been very old when he wrote Revelation, forget how old but it was at the edge of possibility and beyond probability. Anyhoo, anyone who has watched the decay of old-line protestant church self-belief since say WWII, can see that into the vacuum rush the sun worshippers, the egyptian mystery religion, the cults of the head (knowledge), occultics, gnostics, rosicrucians, templars --all sorts of dried up old streambeds freshening. JR Nyquist has a column, i think it was 'Stone Age Genocide' --that reminds us that our religions are still but a few thousand years old at best --and before that are hundreds of thousand of years of some other god or gods worshipped by the humans paleolithic and older. Come on; it's a revenue stream. The more outrageous and bizarre the schtick, the greater the attention and traffic. On the plus side, he gets to fancy himself as outré, avant garde, exotic other, maybe even heroic, in a Walter Mitty way. Maybe, it beats a real productive and useful job: "something for nothing and the chicks are free".
ISTR Trotsky in his autobiography complaining about the professionals who came to his meetings in America, they drove autos and hadn't studied philosophy. That last was probably the killer, how can anyone who hasn't studied philosophy have a true understanding of anything? Just because you are a doctor/lawyer/engineer doesn't mean you have any useful knowledge.

The author's sleuthing aside, whoever designed that artwork with the alternating black and white stripes on the sleeves, sure sent a message to anyone who's ever seen a classic federal prison uniform (or those beagle bros in the Donald Duck comix). Built in 1997, eh? Yup --fits. They repealed the deposit vs investment rule of Glass-Steagal that year or the next. Bastards have about ruined us, whoever the hell they think they are. But they've ruined their beloved victims of the white man even worse --i guess if we the people stubbornly refuse to become the savages they want us to become, they'll just go ahead and do the special effects anyway --and blame us for it. Either that or the art committee has the worst set of tin ears imaginable. ...and this art committee, designing this pyramid of symbolic meaning within a project of pure symbolism to form a gateway into the shrine and armory --the citadel --of the power that owns some significant part of the very life and time on earth of each and every of the beings in thrall, is known to be of the same philosophy as the feller who is the topic of this post, has chosen to cast its Solomonic pyramid in none other hues than the terribly symbolic black and white, with the white part being the very small, clean and pristine, little cap holding down the vast dark down-slope mass of all the 'others'.
What is the meaning of this? And don't say, 'there is no meaning', because the whole piece is before anything else a statement that there is meaning to this. The author of the essay suggests that the true meaning would be clear, if it was the middle rather than the index finger extended on the pointing hand. ...one more creepy thought about that pyramid; it loses its shape not by addition or subtraction of volume but by where the volume is gained or lost.
At the extreme, the whole dark mass could be lost and the white cap would still be the same pyramid. The same, regardless of context, i.e. the size of the under-mass. Volume loss is unlikely from the capstone because the world's city-killer thermonuclear weapons are located there in that white capstone. If the pyramid is meant to divide the world as do the map lines that show where is this nation or that, then everything we ordinary janes and joes think we know about geopolitics would have a correspondingly different structure and logic than the familiar national material meets and bounds of the continental terrestrial. Anyone else seeing remnants of EST (Erhard Seminars Training) here?
