Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Big storms are on the horizon, headed towards Washington DC. The mainstream media, after over five years of protecting, insulating, glorifying, romanticizing Obama and his administration, is beginning to realize that, if they continue on that same path, they will be left behind. With the MSM running interference for the admin., perhaps they felt invulnerable in Washington. I recall Michelle Obama once bragging about that. No longer. Now the election is over. I suspect the MSM and talking heads feel torn between doing their job and protecting their political hero and Leftist ambitions in general. Probably many Dems in Washington are feeling the same way this week. This administration is dead in the water, will need to be towed to harbor, will not recover even with MSM help. Too many problems, with maybe more to come, and the MSM has already focused on constructing a Hillary narrative as the next savior. But how likely is it that Americans would elect two Chicago Alinskyites in a row?

The Benghazi lies were just too blatant and their story so obvious BS it couldn't be swept under the rug.
They got overconfident and lazy with their lies. Meanwhile the rest of the world and Obamacare rolls on to what havoc?
If it were just Benghazi and the IRS focusing on Tea Party groups, you could expect the MSM to be right there by the Dems' side. But Obama Justice Department Secretly Monitored AP Reporters' Phone Records could be a real game-changer, when suddenly the shoe is on the other foot.
But the 800 lb gorilla in the room is, how ALL of this, the lies about the Bengahzi attack, the IRS political scrutiny of conservative groups, etc., MAY (we can't prove it!) have changed the outcome of the 2012 election. Anyone who looks at the results from those key swing states has got to ask themselves, "How many votes would it have taken, to swing this state to the other side?" Or even more interesting, how many voters who sat out this election, would have shown up, had they been even more angry with this administration?
Very possible, but it still doesn't change the fact that Mittens was not a very good candidate and a bunch of white blue collar voters who might have changed the outcome stayed home probably largely due to Obama's clever painting of Mittens as that rich evil capitalist that elimiated your job with him getting richer in the process.
The Chicago Gang originated the tactic of gerrymandering districts to maximize results favoring the Dems, not to mention other means of finding voters among the deceased, exiled, imprisoned, etc. as blatantly described in Bill Ayre's books. We can't say there wasn't a warning.
As the Doobie Brothers suggest: "What a Fool Believes, he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away, what seems to be is always better than nothing...." The press is swallowing hard before reporting on the latest storm clouds - until they found out they were being spied on. Now they swallow a little easier when they report unseemly news. It will pass and they will at some point conclude that it is "old news" or "that the public is tired of it" or that "the pubbies are just being political" or something else.
There can be a string of a dozen leftist administrations and they can each found to be crooked, subversive, destructive, or incompetent (or all of the above), and they will report a percentage of the facts (while finding more important news like new trends in Hollywood) and then gravitate back to them. Taken as a whole, they are lower than pond scum. As evidence I present the WashPo that recently gave Obummer 4 Pinocchios for his claim that he called Benghazi a terrorist attack (how long ago was that?). And after 56 days, ABC finally reports on a "doctor" (Gosnell) killing delivered babies. That being said, we might as well enjoy the few times when they reluctantly report some actual news. It's not likely to last long. I don't know, the press has always struck me similar to the old saying "no wrath like that of a woman scorned". Once the press turns on you it can get real ugly. It seems that the combination of growing disenchantment with Zero's incompetency + mounting evidence of corruption (the press equivalent of crack to an addict) + the admin's foul play on the press itself = potentially big problems for the Obummer.
The 'Two Week News Cycle' shall not be infringed.
IOW take a deep breath and wait. It will go away... Have to agree with Dorf on this. They are pretending to be a useful press but they will shed the pretense ASAP. They have no honor and no decency. They detest the nation and its people every bit as much as Obama and Michelle do.
Geez--these items alone (IRS spying on TEA Party, DOJ spying on AP) and the simultaneous push for new gun laws leaves me to thinking: now that I am dependent upon medicare and forced into Obamacare--will someone be handing out my medical treatments (Benefit) according to how I vote? What a sweet way to reduce the population problem and boost your voter base at the same time--not mention cutting the costs on this health care issue.
Second item: You know those new voting machines so many unsuspecting states were coerced into bringing on line--you remember them don't you? D'ya suppose . . . Sorry, but those who control America are not patriots. Hillary will be the next president, you can bank on it.
Tom Sowell said before Obama's first term, he would be disasterous if elected and that it would be years, if not decades to recover.
Not just Bengahzi, but foreign policy in general has been poor, fast and furious, voting intimidation and fraud, IRS, Pigford, AP wiretaps, and the cherry on top: Obamacare. I'm sure there are others. Second rate people choosing second and third rate to surround themselves and here is what you get: Hillary as the best, or is it the ghost of Bill people really see? I think that nothing will come of any of this. The opposing party does not have the leadership in place to knock all 3 of these stories out of the park. Where are the GOP leaders, the RNC, etc. - Do you think the DNC would be sitting on its hands and saying as little as possible were this happening in 2006? You have to look as far as Nancy Pelosi's comments on the IRS today to realize they think they can handle this just fine.
I also am wondering why all 3 stories are out at once? Do you think that was planned as it is extremely hard to focus on one let alone 3 major issues? The 2014 is far from a "slam dunk" for the GOP either. Until the GOP stops being "AFRAID" to react to anything, there is no hope. They have to govern like they aren't scared to lose their seats if they think what they are doing is right. Both sides have one interest and only one: Their own. You missed one "Lamar Alexander: Sebelius fundraising ‘arguably an even bigger issue’ than Iran-Contra".....
And there will be another one within the week. I think Dorf is right. It will all blow over.
As for the IRS, for all the outrage directed at them for going after conservative groups, did they actually break any laws, or do they legally have the discretion to go after whoever they wish? If no laws were broken, what can be done? Well, releasing confidential docs to a newsie is the first lob. NOM (Nat'l Org Marrage) has already filed a law suit against the IRS for releasing their tax records and information to a newsie, whom, reported off those docs, then, quit to go co-chair Obambi's election. It was odd when the newsie did the article, then, hot-footed it out of the news room, then to the campaign's waiting arms.
And, several of the attacks on Romney were based on those documents in the campaign, eluding specificly to his NOM contributions. No way that was 'public' knowledge, unless a 'public' employee\organization 'leaked' the info. Very odd indeed, since, oddly, no likewise 'leak' of Obambi's data (college transcript, his rabble-rousing records in Chi-town, how long it took to get his birth certificate, ect) has ever really happened. Most Ethical Admin Evah!!!! What has happened to the media in this country!?! They have always leaned left...but now ABCBSNBCNNPRPBS are out and out propagandists for the administration.
Who are these people? I know there's lots of incest with the administration...marriages between "reporters" and administration officials...siblings working both sides of the street. Twenty years ago we would not have seen this. Who changed the rules? NBC Nightly "News" is almost as big a propaganda agent as MSNBC...how did that happen? GE/Comcast maybe??? "But how likely is it that Americans would elect two Chicago Alinskyites in a row?"
Never underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate. "...how likely is it that Americans would elect two Chicago Alinskyites in a row?"
Allow me to leave you with two disturbing thoughts on this: 1. How likely was it (or at least did it seem), roughly a year or more ago, that Americans would re-elect a SCOAMF Chicago Alinskyite to a second four-year term? and - 2. Regardless of who actually runs in 2016, if it's close at all, how do you propose to avoid an even larger-scale repeat of the vote-theft that the Democrats used to ensure that re-election of our current SCOAMF at 1600 Penn Ave, being used to put another Chicago Alinskyite - or similar Democrat disaster - into office? Think about it... |
