Hollywood, being a community (in the modern sense) self-indulgent, avaricious, and corrupt is naturally attracted to and understands only drug addiction and infidelity, and so naturally left all parts of Cash’s life which they could not fathom from the movie.

I don't begrudge Hillary for a dime she makes giving speeches. If someone wants to pay her for that with their own money, I have no problem.

BUT I remember when Reagan gave some speeches for some sizable sums after he left the presidency and the left was aghast. It was another reason (to them) why he was a jerk.

I guess now that Bill and Hill will be raking in million$, it's ok!

I wouldn't listen to her for free much less pay $200,000 for the privilege (pain). But I wouldn't listen to punk rock, bubblegum rock, rap, hip-hop (or whatever it's called today). I wouldn't walk across the street to pee on Harry Reid if he were on fire, but some people would do those things and as long as they do it with their money, and on their on time I have no problem.

I just have a problem with hypocrisy.

The Dewey From Detroit piece on Detroit till mattering is a powerful warning and a call to resist the urge to accept corruption is inevitable. It has implications on our current national administration. Rule of law for all and equity before the law and all.

But as you view the decline of Detroit under the corruption of Democratic rule, I would refer you to this photo story about East Germany before and after they threw off their corrupt socialist rulers.

Where are the hymn writers for the climate change faith? Could we not come together is more salubrious worship with some old, we I guess new, time hymns and spirituals?

Really can the faithful survive on Revelations alone? Do they not need the Gospels to bring them hope?

look.. he Tried Hard and he Did Something. it doesn't matter, to liberals, whether it works or not, or, as the article points out, the net result will be higher consumer costs and twice as much plastic litters, its the Thought That Counts.

When big soda bottles are outlawed, only outlaws will have big soda bottles.

Hey, the large drinks are still legal in NJ, aren't they? New Yorkers can just go over the state line and buy all the big bottles of soda they want and drink in the comfort of their homes....along with the large pizzas that are just as bad for weight watchers. Or they can take one of their big soda bottles out to dinner: BYOS, Bring Your Own Soda, no law against that, is there?

BTW, juice is not subject to this incredibly stupid law, and yet a glass of orange juice has as much sugar in it as a regular soda, 8 tsps per 8-oz. Why isn't orange juice banned? Yep, it's all about people control, JKB. Mooooooo to U 2!

There are some great stories about "Ring of Fire" starting with June Carter "writing" the song which, according to Cash's first wife Vivian Liberto, she didn't - Cash felt sorry for her as she was having money troubles and he got her some royalty credit.

The best of course is letting June Carter's sister, Anita, record the song, but she ignored Cash's advice about having a horn section and the song never went anywhere. Cash recorded it using a mariachi horn section and the rest is history.

The song have been covered by a ton of different bands including Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Eric Burden, Sex Pistols (with different lyrics of course), etc.

Lyrics and theme just don't lockup any tighter --fall into a burning ring of fire, and you ain't gonna try to explain it, you know all you can do is testify you fell into it, and it hurts so good. The old chestnut 'deceptively simple' comes to mind, but you could go it one better and just call it Cash accounting.

--hell you can't accrue the fall into a burning ring of fire anyways, you just settle up and go on, because of otherwise it strings along, and if you string things along, you can't wake up in a brand new world every morning, and if you can't do that, you won't have that clear head beloved of the muses and by their songs from the ethos you will likely be unstruck, and it is only the stricken man who can walk out on that stage and electrify the pilgrims come to wink along with the Man-in-Black, because after all he does have this music that comes to laugh at tragedy for you and means to get it off your back as best it can.

It is all just one big ball of wax along with those (cough) simple lyrics --in no way was he up to taking any count of change; thus and hence no matter what he would sell you (be it an 33 or a 45 RPM record, be it indirectly aqnd whatever brillo pads and toothpaste et cetera was helping keep this and that rockabilly radio station on the air, or be it directly a concert ticket to be at a certain place at a given time somewhere along the embrace of what the old folks would've known as the Natchez Trace and the Santa Fe Trail, linking among other things country music venues from Nashville to Lubbock, you always got back all the Cash he ever had in him.
