Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

How's that War on Poverty working for our cultural, Mr. Moynihan?

Politics is an expression of culture, and political action can help change the cultural dynamic.

That would make the neocons actually liberal as they believe the US can change cultures around the world by forcefully changing the politics.

Moynihan could talk a good game but his voting record, like most democrats, was to fund the poverty wars. None of which we have won. And Obama is willing to continue funding the poverty wars and add additional middle east muslim wars that have been fought for 1400 years. And no end in sight for either war but bankrupcy might bail us out of both. Got preps??
