We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It's not insanity, it's just vague incoherence. They have no idea how the economy works (or they believe crazy theories about it), so they have no firm notions about what a President or Congress might do or quit doing to improve the economy. So it's easy to conclude that Obama inherited a big problem and might fix it if given more time, or a more compliant Congress, or whatever. If they think that rich people deliberately withhold jobs and other goodies from poor people, so much the better: they may believe that their buddy Obama is in their corner, but evil Mitt just likes rich people.
