We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

But physical fitness is as vital to the activities of peace as to those of war, especially when our success in those activities may well determine the future of freedom in the years to come. — John Kennedy
So, someone PLEASE tell me how "diplomatic" it is to put a lesbian in an ambassador role to a Muslim country? How many times have we tried that PC gimmick in the past 25 years--anyone remember the gal who was head of the Iraqi consulate?
WE MUST get over the idea of on the job training for poorly prepared females. YOU DO NOT ELEVATE the floor sweeper to head of corporation in quick move! Only in the US have we been trying to do that for the last 25 years. We have proven over and over it does not work! How many failed academic programs? How many failed school districtis? How many failed corporations? and how many failed military departments do we need in order to prove the point--America was built on the idea of hiring "Best Qualified"--not nespotism--not feminism--not . . .
