We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A slick political election year move

Nobody wants to deport the little children. Typical Friday afternoon announcement. Bypass Congress: Pandering: Obama to Stop Deporting Younger Illegals, to Grant Them Work Permits.


Of course it is amnesty, in the same way that Obamacare is just a step towards government-owned medical care.


Obama says it's good for Americans. Whether it's the right thing or not for America, I don't know. Definitely good for Mexicans, but Mexicans aren't American yet. Seems like an issue for Congress, however, not the executive branch.


Gays? Check.
Greenies? Check.
Illegals? Mexicans? Check.
What next?


What is best for all of us? That's the question.

congress enacts the Immigration and Nationality Act, the Department of Homeland Security makes rules to enforce the Act and the Dear Leader decides what he wants enforced.

I have no objection to a work permit system that allows immigrants legally to come to the US to work, as long as it is not presumed this is a gateway to automatic citizenship.

But we all know what this new Obama policy is intended to do. It is intended to provide a respite for the beneficiaries, letting them grow into adulthood, marry, and have children...who become anchor babies, American citizens by birth. At that point, the entire family gets to stay permanently and everyone is put on the track for citizenship. The Dems need just a few years for this policy to work, in their political favor they think, since everyone, especially the beneficiaries of this policy, know the name of the game and that time is of the essence: marry young, have kids who are automatically citizens, and remove the cloud over your right to stay here even if your entry into the country was illegal at the time.

In the meantime, of course, it will become illegal for employers to discriminate in hiring against "undocumented" immigrants, who are being given an official immigration pass and the protection of federal anti-discrimination laws.

IIRC, our continuing problem over immigration was supposed to have been solved in the 1980s via the agreement that was hammered out with Ted Kennedy and other Congressional Democrats. The Dems have not kept their word, not on this issue, not on any other issue. They never keep their word. It is pointless for Conservatives to negotiate in good faith with Liberals. Conservatives need to defeat liberal Democrats at the polls and drive them into utter electoral extinction.

Obama is legislating. But with leadership in the GOP being what it is there isn't likely to be anything but mumbling. Rinos need to be removed...Lugar was but a good start.

We can't break up families! So...

The E-Z solution:

Send them ALL back. I mean it. They are citizens of a foreign country, beholden to a foreign potentate. They are lawbreaking illegal aliens every day that they're here, and they are taking jobs away from honest American citizens by the millions.

I have no personal animosity toward any one of them in particular. I like kittens, too. But I wouldn't want to have three thousand kittens living in my house, and more coming in every day.

As a working, law abiding caucasion, if I were to break the law one-tenth as egregiously as the typical Mexican or Middle Eastern illegal alien, I would be arrested and jailed. Is there any doubt?

The same goes for you, whiteboys. You pay your taxes and STFU, while these foreign scofflaws pay no taxes, and push up the unemployment rate. We have a criminal Attorney General who is an accessory to murder, and a President who ignores Congress and flouts the Constitution. Time for torches and pitchforks, IMHO.

Illegal aliens kill more Americans every year then the Afghanistan and Iraq war did. Illegal aliens cost the taxpayers over $200 billion a year. Illegal aliens in some states are over 30% of the incarcerated. Illegal aliens have put a dozen serious diseases that were once rare in the U.S. back on the front page. American citizens are losing their homes to ever higher property taxes that go to pay for schools that in some districts are over 50% children of illegals. The list goes on amd on but the question is why do we put up with it?

Unemployment among black Americans is at record highs - so what does the first black President do? He floods the market with illegal immigrant labor. Will anyone notice?

I've seen complaints about the effect this will have on unemployment in general, but illegal hispanic labor has had a much larger impact on blacks since they are often at the bottom of the economic ladder and competing for the same jobs.

Nobody wants to deport the little children.

It's not about little children, specifically this grants immunity to those "Who came to this country, AS CHILDREN".
Illegal immigrants have been flooding into this country for forty years, most of these are going to be adults. And since these are illegals, what documentation do undocumented workers have or need to say that they have been in this country since they were minors?

I thought that was the reason we have the "rule of law"?
