We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Why the Obama team remains confident about November

In New York Magazine: Hope: The Sequel - For Obama & Co., this time around it’s all about fear:



...2008’s candidate of hope stands poised to become 2012’s candidate of fear. For many Democrats, this is just fine and dandy, for they believe that in the Romney-Republican agenda there is plenty to be scared of. For others in the party in both politics and business, however, the new Obama posture is cause for concern. From the gay-marriage decision to the onslaught on Bain, they see the president and his team as coming across as too divisive, too conventional, and too nakedly political, putting at risk Obama’s greatest asset his likability with the voters in the middle of the electorate who will ultimately decide his fate. 


Whichever side is right, one thing is undeniable. For anyone still starry-eyed about Obama, the months ahead will provide a bracing revelation about what he truly is: not a savior, not a saint, not a man above the fray, but a brass-knuckled, pipe-hitting, red-in-tooth-and-claw brawler determined to do what is necessary to stay in power, in other words, a politician.

Golly, I thought it was only the Conservative side that had to worry about pleasing the "independents."

Anger is corrosive. It will destroy Obama from within. Even the nightly news won't be able to hide the implosion.

These foul-mouthed democrats are delusional. All they ever think about is inside baseball, never about what's actually best for America, and ALL Americans. I hope they stay confident all the way through November 3rd.

Along with defeating President Downgrade, our job is to get as many constitutionalists as possible elected to the House and Senate, so that they can begin scaling back this monstrous Leviathan that the Federal government has become.

Did anybody else notice how often the Obama team uses the F word? They can't say a sentence without it. They are actively participating in the coarsening of American life. They have no class. Why doesn't that bother their voters?

I'm glad the editor didn't edit this out. It says it all.

Of course President Obama is a politician, and Chicago-reared. As is anyone who really tries to run for President or other office. This is beside the point, really.


He has ended our involvement in Iraq; he will end our involvement in Afghanistan. He's pursued and eliminated more terrorists (such as Bin Laden) than the previous president.
He also inherited a stunning economic mess generated by the previous administration (which inherited a balanced budget from Clinton). He rescued GM and the auto industry AND got them to agree on the highest fuel economy in history. He averted the worst economic disaster since Hoover.

Them's facts that stand. He did all this as a politician.
And as President, we should hold him accountable for both his achievements and failures and weigh them.

He ended the involvement in Afghanistan after he put in more troops. He's pulling them out now, which will leave the place in chaos but at least can let him say that he took them out (in the same manner that he opposed Iraq but now claims all its successes.) The economic mess was caused by the Dems in Congress throwing out Stegall-Glass and allowing the banks to expand. We now have the most anemic recovery in history because Obama, like Hoover, chose to add more regulations to businesses as part of his "recovery". The unemployment figures are at 8% only because we have fewer folks in the job market.

He's a bad politician, a bad leader and not nearly as bright as they told us in 2008. He doesn't understand American or Americans very well. And like Carter, 20 years from now, folks will wonder why we ever elected him.

I think folks should save this –and from time to time resend it to everyone on your email list. It’s the best thumbnail sketch I’ve yet seen, concerning the history of Obama and ACORN, including ACORN’s organizations that have changed names in order to receive more money from the 4.1 billion in the Stim bill for ‘neighborhood organizations’.

It also shows how voter fraud systems that stand alomne, operating their end-user interface on human nature rather than incriminating directives from the top, is the single thing ACORN –including until 2008 Obama –are all about.

Both URLs show the work (many, many obscure but red-hot links) –and both deserve as wide a distribution as possible, imho. People aware of voter fraud are the only defense, as we all know, against the totalitarian takeover we are beginning to see taking place all around us. They won’t cheat on the statutes –they cheat on qualifying the ‘standings’.
