Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Bumped to the top: Ain't too proud to beg for eyeballs

It's the time of year for us to ask our readers, whether occasional or devoted followers, to introduce our website to your friends, neighbors, countrymen, colleagues, etc.


We always want more eyeballs. That's our reward for our efforts - besides our own enjoyment and self-education. We learn things from doing this, and maybe you learn something from reading us.


We may be a boutique, eclectic site and certainly not to everybody's taste, but I have even got my Massachusetts Obama-lib sis reading us, so that's something.


I recently learned from a Maggie's pal visiting China that we are blocked there. Why? Anyway, we aren't blocked anywhere else, so do us a favor and send us around. A little freedom-loving New England Yankee influence can only be a good thing for the world.

MF = The best kept secret on the Intertubes! If you get more page views, will you still promise not to change? It would be a shame if MF went the way of one of those Lost Tribes in the Amazonian jungle who lose all their "innocence" once they are "discovered" by the outside world.

Where else can you go to find out about whatever. Reminds of stoop-sitting in Oklahoma when it's 115 degrees in the shade. Better and faster spread of info than any newspaper, certainly any magazine. For that matter, the phone 'cause unless you had a party line, you could only talk to one person at a time.

Now we have Maggie's and you never know what you're going to find. Actually, the picture made me assume it was going to be my grandson's recipe for meatballs ("eyes" when you push a slice of olive into the mix) and worms (pasta of your choice). Ten-year-old humor.

I thought you were wallowing in riches with all the stunning comments that come through, but hey! If you get really rich off this, you go guy! You put more effort into this site than any of my editors ever put into their productions. :^)

I've had my own blog up for about a year now, it helps to get me out of the house some-days with the camera just to feed the need to post something.
After a year I have less than 15K of hits and a pitiful handful of comments. But I hope I'm getting better at it.

Then I saw a link to the blog Bristol Palin was starting up (might have been at MF), I looked at it, I think I even posted a nice comment and wished her well.
Within a week her site had hundred of thousands of visits, hundreds of comments and its still growing.

Sigh...
Say guys, now that you mention it, I've had you on my blogroll since the beginning, got any empty space on yours? (You brought it up!)
