We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There are more than 100 Indian trading posts in and around Gallup and the majority are run or owned by Palestinian-Americans, said Ed Jungbluth, Executive Director of the Gallup Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Potemkin Village - Odd, but, isn't those the kind of things they label the 'Right Wingers' do?
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit...
All the while, busing in 'voters', the 'dead pool' of waiting voters, faked voter registrations, outcry for Voter ID usage, the various groups of useful idiots, etc... kinda makes your head spin at the hypocrisy...
I started helping my grandmother when she served as an election judge down South back in the '50s. I was her relief when she had to use the restroom as she was the ONLY Republican willing to serve in that capacity.
Later, in college, one of my poli sci professors encouraged us to poll watch as our community was known for shipping in voters, trading liquor and cigarettes for support and scouring the homeless shelters and hobo yards to fill in for "the dead." It was a rude awakening thanks to the viciousness. Asking for or manipulating for a vote is one thing; thuggery is evil. The Black Panthers assuring that only "the elite" vote is no surprise to me.
Poll watchers--an organized nationwide group dedicated to poll watching at every single poll--but, wait--what about all those mail-in ballots they talked the Republicans into voting for, because it would save money? Now what do we do folks?
And the electronic ballot counting a 14-year-old showed me could be changed much as those credit card thieves steal numbers while parked in a shopping center lot? Yep, we have major opportunity for fraud, much of which is designed by bored teenagers living in far off lands.
I'd be happy for the olden days when they just switched pre-voted machines stored at morgues for the ones we thought we'd used. I think they transported them in hearses
Any evidence Catholics are going to desert the Dems over the contraceptive mandate?
I'd like to have hope... but history proves me foolish for having any. Blacks still vote Democrat despite all the history, and people like Robert Byrd. Hispanics do too, despite abortion and other anti-Catholic Democrat proclivities. Both groups are basically conservative on paper in general. Women still voted for Clinton despite his piggish behavior. I guess he's cool because he forces women to need contraceptives or something.
Really we aren't too far off from mandatory abortions, and I suspect Catholics would still support Democrats if that practice became law. "They wouldn't need the mandatory abortions if it weren't for Republican budget cuts and tax breaks for the rich."
I'm a fan of Notre Dame's Fighting Amish, I deserve an exemption from bambicare. Either that or because I'm declaring to be Anglican Amish -- and the government better not challenge me on my long-held, subjectively unimpeachable theological beliefs unless it wants another constitutional crisis.
Another tidbit about the "disgraced" major of San Jose, California. He dumped his campaign chair (and wife) in favor of a 29 year old lobbyist, who's job was to lobby the city of San Jose, whom he later married once out of office.
