We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Weather in Europe is not "tragic", certainly not "the worst since 1956" (that's just the globull warming crowd at work).
It's a cold snap, few frosty nights. Indeed we've not had temps quite this low in some 15 years, but it's not exceptional. No mass snow drifts like last year, no drenching rain, just a bit of a chill (-20C or so at night, -4C or so in the afternoon).
I have been saying for several years now--that the dems do it because "it" is an organized strategy developed by a small very core group of folks. These people get special lifts all the way through school. Those special "supports" used to start in college. They were dependent upon the student's feverish support of special causes: abbortion, environmental issues, etc. The sincerity and the level of fever was analyzed by handmaidens (teachers). When handing out scholarships the students who had written the most papers both in literature and affiliated classes, i.e. ethics, biologys and who demonstrated in front of union halls. These are the kids who got the "scholarships". In later college years their advanced studies and work experiences were supported by their appointment to departmental clerk jobs and then as researchers. HOWEVER, it was discovered that they could hold summer camps (think Norway 2011) and teach younger kids political duty and submission. AND, now you can see it happening in the elementary schools. For a very good example of how it's done one only needs to read this Jan. 11, 2012 item:
and yesterday less than a month later:
You can read this history of raise increases. You can also see that he is not from Montana. In the 1980's the incoming libs locked out any young Montana male from ever settling in their own state to continue their own cultural traditions. The ones who did get to stay were the sons of wealth, who had not served in the military and were dutifully obedient to the feminist cause. SO we no longer expect that any of that aged generation will be hired to lead in Montana's tradition of excellence. Somewhere on the internet you will read that he has been on the glass elevator to the top having spent 3 dutiful years in Arizona (owned by Nevada mobsters). Here is more:
I was about to write in disagreement that there is a lot of misinformation out there on the Inter-tubes and that you get what you pay for (/sarc), and that part of being well educated is to know how to tell the difference between the "good information" and the "bad information"---but then it dawned on me that much of the formal education in the US (read secondary schools and colleges) does't teach the difference either, so the article at the link is probably right.
