Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

In favor of a Keystone Beer pipeline from Canada

The US has 55,000 miles of oil pipelines already. Who would object to a beer pipeline from Canada?


Cheap beer, for America! That's what we need to help the country grow.

Sorry to ruin your day, but beer is not cheap here in the great white north.

$37 and change for 24 bottles or cans, plus a $.10 deposit per bottle or can (you get $.05 back on returns).

As a result, when I was in Kingston Ontario in the early 90's, a friend and I went to Lake Placid for a ski week, when we stopped to buy some "supplies" in Watertown, (beer and smokes), I could buy 24 US beer and a carton of Canadian brand cigarettes for less than I paid for 2 packages of smokes back in Canada.

Things have not gotten any better since then.

Keystone is a product of Coors.

According to this page on Wiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_%28beer_brand%29 ), Coors does produce a Keystone XL. "...introduced 2011, found in a 40oz bottle and used for the Trans-American market."

Don't know if that's factual or if someone is just jerking chains here as no other information is given about it.
