We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
a tactful aunt-in-law asked me over thanksgiving dinner whether or not i was planning on continuing to work after the baby was born (expecting in march). i said, "yes." she replied, "thank god! i assumed you would--you're smart. what do women do all day that don't work? it's so pathetic!"
working women are the most judgmental bunch re: stay at home moms. ive heard comments from my female CEO to the effect that a woman's education is basically wasted if she chooses not to work. wasted? hm, ivy league educated mom doing flashcards with child vs nanny sticking child in front of tv while mom is in corporate world pretending she has a penis. wonder what's better for the child. wasted my pregnant ass. the feminist movement has pitted women against each other in a very, very perverted way.
NYT reports on the Dems abandoning white blue collars is new, but this philosophy was clearly stated by Howard Dean and Donna Brazile when they were the #1 and #2 honchos of the DNC and fervent Obama supporters. In fact, an angry Brazile emailed complaining Hillary supporters that they wouldn't be missed in the New Democrat Party, a more leftist organization composed of minorities, left-leaning unions and liberal upper class whites.
Dean had already selected 10 up-and-coming radical Dems who could head this party after Dean's grooming and the support of lefty blogs and Soros media. Yeh, Soros fits in here, too. Obama was on that short list, and moved to the top when the bloggers fell in love with him and it was clear the media gave him a free pass. When libs talk about the Repub Party going extreme, they're only giving cover to the radical changes in the Dem Party. The Hillary blogs discussed all this in 2008, but the media ignored them and the Repubs weren't interested.
