We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The planners like their project and speak well of it; that is enough to get a lengthy, heavy breathing puff job (hardened newspaper people would use a phrase in place of that one that is unsuitable in a family friendly blog like Via Meadia) in the New York Times. Only an idiot or a propagandist would write such a piece; it is hard to see how any editor would put it in print.
"A team of researchers from UC Irvine, HRL Laboratories and the California Institute of Technology have developed the world’s lightest material – with a density of 0.9 mg/cc – about one hundred times lighter than Styrofoam."
Silly me. This shows how much I know about science. Here I thought the world's lightest material was hydrogen. What a bozo I am!
And although it wasn't a particularly fresh idea (bashing green initiatives), +10 for the Neal Boortz article. I've maintained for years that this is the sharpest mind in the blogosphere. He had a complete, comprehensive flat tax program written up before the term was ever mentioned in the MSM, and was a big Cain backer in the 2008 election. I highlight him here, here and here. To be fair, though, he can also be a total assbite, as I note here.
"Bummer du jour: Prepare Yourself for Obama's Second Term"
I'll be presenting the counterargument to this on Monday. Just between you and me, I'll take Ann Coulter's opinion over some defeatist asswipe's opinion any day of the week.
Of all the European countries, there is but one with both a high-functioning politics of liberty and a strong growing balanced economy. That's right, Israel. Take that, ya anti what-all trolls in the link, ya.
