Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Not true!!! The press is an unbiased observer/communicator who has no influence or impact on events around them, Pete Jennings told us so.

I would add the honesty and integrity of Dan Rather. Then too, is the defeatest Walter Cronkite. Both of whom, were "unbiased communicators". Just ask them.

My favorite story about how unbiased the press is when Tom Brokaw was on Imus in the Morning during the Clinton-Chinese Funny Money non-scandal. The conversation went something like this:
Brokaw & Imus are talking about the election between Clinton and Dole.

Brokaw: It will be really interesting to see if the stories of the Chinese helping to fund Clinton's election campaign will affect the campaign.
Imus: If people watched your show, how would they know about them?
Brokaw: (crickets)
