We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I wanted to guess, but I'm so immersed in electronics that my eyes didn't know what to look at.
Consider the irony of this post juxtaposed against the next one. The next one declares we should drop the electronics and get back to nature, yet, without electronics, we'd never have this article to teach us about this intriguing plant.
My best guess is "scrub".
And, now that I've guessed, my whole world suddenly seems as exotic as a rain forest.
Highbush blueberry indeed! I stringy one. I finally got up the nerve to semi-aggressively prune mine this past February. Glad I did. They are filling out nicely. Gonna cost me berries for this year but only the birds could reach half the berries anyway. Love those bushes.
