Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Who the heck was Barack Obama, aka Barry Soetoro?

The MSM never told us, but inquiring minds want to know and are curious because he ran for President of the USA and won an election (h/t Sistah). Caveat: I hold nobody's past or stupid youth against them, because we are in America where we are free to invent and re-invent ourselves if we wish to:

The information was out there three years ago... I'm not saying I knew all of what was presented here, I knew some... but the MSM wouldn't touch it then, and I'll bet they won't touch it now.

The MSM sent planeloads of reporters to Alaska to dig through Sarah Palin's trash but couldn't bring themselves to look into Zero's past.

No, it's worse than that. You know they looked into his past and then decided to not divulge.

That said, Clintoon was treated the same way. You barely heard of Whitewater, cattle futures, or Troopergate in the runup to the '92 election (unless you read The American Spectator) and when you did hear of it, the news segment was short and delivered by a smirking Jennings, Rather, or Brokaw. Once Clinton was re-elected in '96, all that started to change.

Methinks impeachments are good for news ratings.

"Dreams" was first published in 1995, then reissued in 2004 after his speech at the Democratic convention; i.e. plenty of time for every voter (includng the media) to start vetting this newbie politician who was obviously on the fast track.

BTW, whatever happened to the "natural born" vs. "native born" for eligibility? Do you mean that Hugo Chavez could impregnate a visiting American, she could return to the U.S. to give birth to Hugo II (automatic citizenship), he then is sent back to Venezuela for appropriate pre-K through 12 education but returned to the U.S. for college and law degrees and, after dabbling in social organizing, can run for President?

I think that's what our Founding Fathers were tryng to avoid.
