Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Syria under Assad is an implacable foe of the U.S., the Iranian mullahs' principal Arab ally, a major supporter of Hezbollah, and an importer of nuclear technology from North Korea.

However, to el presidente, a Shia who knows how to practice taqiyya well enuff to become khalifa of Muhammadan hordes, Syria and Iran chief allies.

Don't hold yall's breath waitin' for BHO, aka Barry Sotero to war on Shia.

The Lost Boys

In December 1970 two teenagers disappeared from the Heights neighborhood, in Houston. Then another and another and another. As the number of missing kids grew, no one realized that the most prolific serial killer the country had ever seen—along with his teenage accomplices—was living comfortably among them. Or that the mystery of what happened to so many of his victims would haunt the city to this day.

Dunno, what about Syria? It's a Kobayashi Maru: even if Assad leaves, whatever replaces him is guaranteed to be as bad or worse.
