We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It must be midwinter, because we have been posting so many New York City items. Much more than usual. Hunting season is over, Spring is far off, we don't all ski, and we all like to ingest some culcha on weekends. Where else can you find more and better of everything, without having to spend a lot of money (except for parking)?
This is a great example of what is called "Third Stream Jazz" - meaning that it is about half classically oriented, half jazz producing a very mellow, more organized sound with even tempo and easy to follow solo efforts.
The MJQ was one of those groups that spanned and explored West Coast/East Coast jazz, be-bop these kind of "third stream" tunes.
Great selection BD - very nice for a snowy New England morning.
