Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

More New England real estate: Stowe, VT

Why spend 2 million for the simple cottage we posted yesterday, when you can spend just 8X more for a special ski house with plenty of space for all of your friends?


OK, so it isn't most peoples' idea of quaint little Stowe. I suppose you could buy it just to dynamite this wedding cake.

That's no house, it needs to be converted to an inn or b&b as it's design dictates.

As a house it is obscene in every way, as an inn, kind of cool.

Even if they were the same price I'd prefer that cottage...

Unless as stated I was looking for a place to start a hotel.

It would make for a wonderful Whore House. Instill a top notch restaurant, a fine bar, a boutique filled with exotic condoms and a variety of sex toys. It would be called, Disneyland for Men Only.

It made me think of the Risorgimento monument in Rome which Italians have nicknamed either "the typewriter" or "the wedding cake".
