We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Princeton has ROTC. Why not Yale? Speaking only for myself, though, I'd rather be led into a firefight by a Lieut. from SMU than one from Princeton or Yale.
Next thing we know, China will be buying up controlling interests in all of our coal mines. We have bountiful amounts of coal, enough to fire our electrical plants for decades and decades. That's why the Liberals have set up such a hate campaign against coal mines. Now we have shale gas fields being discovered and exploited hand over fist. The Liberals hate that. We have enough natural gas [good old clean burning natural gas] and petroleum trapped in these fields to eliminate any kind of fuel crises for our children and grandchildren.
They've gotta stop that. Can't have folks abandoning the idea of wind farms [bird shredders] and solar panels, neither of which work as effectively as petroleum, natural gas and nuclear power. And which have to be subsidized heavily by Big Government.
Just heard from my stockbroker, who handles my little bitty account as a favor, that the Chinese have bought into one of the shale gas fields here in Texas. And Canada is already producing from the big shale field in Pennsylvania and over the Canadian border. Wait 'til Mr. O gets back from his Hawaiian hideaway and finds out about *that*. What a flutter in the White House dove cotes that will cause. Why, they night have to put off nationalizing the energy companies the way they are planning.
