Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Throw some hunks of coal or wood in there, and crank it up and warm it up.

That stove looks like our Jotul only ours is a little smaller.

There's nothing better than backin up to a hot wood stove on a cold winter day.
For some reason a wood stove keeps the house warmer than any other method. Why is that??

You should move the seltzer bottle away from the fireplace. The seltzer gets too warm and then you need to use additional ice in your drink, which makes you cold, which means more coal or wood in the fire to warm up...
