Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Send Hither a Swarm of Bureaucrats

Related to our morning links comments about exposing the totalitaranism of the Left, read Vanden Heuvel: Send Hither a Swarm of Bureaucrats.



Vanden Heuvel's advice is yet more dreary evidence that the left's desire to transform America into some socialist paradise takes precedent over democratic processes.  Day by day, thanks to twits like Vanden Heuvel, the left reveals its decidedly undemocratic character.


All of the name-calling of Conservatives as "fascists" and "Nazis" is pure projection. Conservatives want less government control and involvement in life - not more. Conservatives do not want to be controlled - or to control.

Libertarians do not want control nor to be controlled. Some people who are called conservatives -- especially social-issue conservatives -- are very eager to control other people. They want to decide who may have sex with whom, which religions are legitimate and which are not, and a few of them would like to decide which race is worthy of dignity and which races are not.
I once said that Pat Buchanan was the only person who could make me vote for Jerry Brown for President. Last night, I told my sweetheart that Obama His Hopeful Changeness is the only person who could make me vote for Pat Buchanan.

At Maggie's we tend towards the Cons/Libertarian, and towards Christianity is our personal lives (or Judaism - which isn't too much different).

The next time conservatives get power, do you think they could sic bureaucrats on Soros's organizations like the Center for American Progress or CPUSA?

Those bureaucrats have to be good for something!

Missy Katrina's solution ain't new.
Her raising it does remind spectre of Mudboy's fascist inclination shared July 2, 2008, in Colorado Springs prior to his election in what i call his Fierce Urgency of Now speech.

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

No doubt, despite the decietfulness of el presidente, who the fascists are.
