Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Beach

It's hot. Wellfleet would be a good place to be today. In the cool water, floating like flotsam. Plymouth Rock is across the bay, below the horizon. It's a good-sized bay.

Books sold on the Kindle are now outpacing the hardcover books Amazon sells. In the past month, for every 100 hardcover books sold, there have been 180 Kindle books sold through Amazon.

I don't think so. Based on my experience, the beaches at Santa Monica, Venice Beach, etc literally stink and you could probably smell it from the picture.

Apart from the pix, there are perhaps other HF posters we could mistake for Charles Johnson, but not Mr. Bird Dog.

Actually, the correct term would be "aura". As each picture captures the life essence of the moment, so, too, does each picture have its own aura radiating that life force. And you're right, the LGF ocean pictures have a rough and jagged aura, whereas the aura of BD's pictures are rich and healthy and glowing.

Good work, BD. Keep it up.

Thanks for the "Cape pics". Family is @ Swift's Beach as we 'speak'. The "Outlaws" (in the family) suggest that this is actually the "Armpit of the Cape". Can't say that I agree.

The National Seashore..." Le Grand Spectacle" !!
