Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

My second Newport photo dump, with fairly good pics

Newport, RI has the largest number of pre-Revolutionary houses and buildings in the USA. This one is odd. A saltbox with a ? gambrel roof. WTH? Name the year it was built:

Given that I restore such beauties for my living I must say I'm impressed.....I want one or two!

I lived on the island for 20 years......and now I'm HOMESICK!! Now I live in the midwest, a disgruntled landlubber. Nice pics, thanks for the memories! The Bristol 4th of July parade used to be a fun time too, if you are still in the area tomorrow....
