At the airport, the God of Embalming and Friend of the Dead

Mr. Anubis, in situ.

Can you imagine being a person who is scared of flying, and you do not know that there�s a three story tall statue of the Egyptian god of the dead nearby the runway easement, and you�re in your seat in the takeoff roll, and you look out the window � say it�s night time too � and all floodlit standing there staring at you as you�re going past at 150 mph is � Mr. Anubis ?

or, somewhere nearby also at the Denver International Airport, the Blue Mustang?

Well, I don't know about Annubis (with the exception of Stargate), but flying on a private plane to Savanna,GA was wonderful - except for the getting off part and walking into a solid wall of humid heat.

Johnny Cash, old and ill, made this soon after his wife died.

bits ofa story emerge in pieces in the comments. I'd never heard this song. i had youtube shuffling its own list --i had the screen on full screen and was wearing headphones and reading the other screen about john kerry and his yacht.

Cash and kerry both very hard to a morning equanimity --though from as different a direction as there is. how is the good boy so rotten and the bad boy so decent ?

The blue demon horse even killed its creator, you know. All that remained was the painting, when it came loose from some cables holding it in place and crushed the sculptor who constructed this "art."

The demon horse was nevertheless painted and put in place.

It's a particularly horrifying twist in the story of a perfectly awful piece of crappy art, funded by Denver taxpayers, to scare the daylights out of people who fly into our city.

You all will be happy to hear that the Blue Mustang may actually not be cursed. The jury's still out, however. If they actually did steal Geronimo's bones and horse bridle, I'd expect the worst. The Apache Nation doesn't forgive easily. You take on the Sun God, you're playing with fire.
