Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Official Girl Scout Sex Guide

My goodness me... Things have certainly changed since I earned my merit badges in the Girl Scouts of America!

Probably this gross misapprehension of the duties of educators, whether in Girl Scouts or in our nation's schools, began when the Busybody educators decided it was their job to co-opt the job of such education from the parents of the children in either school or activity groups like Scouts.

I suspect there are others, Maggiesfarmers and the blog's devoted readers, who feel that the child's parents will do a helluva lot better job directing their children's comprehension of sex activity and its multiple roles in the life of a healthy human individual, than any self-important stranger ever could.

But then, I'm old-fashioned, I guess.

AMEN! Note first that Liberals ask why Islamofascists hate us.

Then note that the Islamofascists say they hate us because of our rampant public sexuality and immorality.

This brings you to the inescapable conclusion that it is the Liberals that the Islamists truly hate and want to kill, but that the Libs rely upon the rest of us to resist Islamist aggresssion!

As so often happens, what Tom Lehrer wrote over a half-century ago still has some topicality. From his song about the Boy Scouts,Be Prepared:

Be prepared! And be careful not to do
Your good deeds when there's no one watching you.
If you're looking for adventure of a
new and different kind,
And you come across a Girl Scout who is
similarly inclined,
Don't be nervous, don't be flustered, don't be scared.
Be prepared!

Get this bit from the book:

"Some countries have laws that say people
living with HIV must tell their sexual
partner(s) about their status before having
sex, even if they use condoms or only
engage in sexual activity with a low risk
of giving HIV to someone else. These laws
violate the rights of people living with HIV
by forcing them to disclose or face the
possibility of criminal charges."

Isn't it a violation of the rights of partner to be potentially exposed to a life threatening incurable infection without disclosure? How can anyone proceed from such an astonishingly inconsistent framework of human rights.
